Sick Toys. 1/4 of the energy i.e. 125watt = 500watt Hid and cool! Cool enough to place a lot closer to the ladies. That's it I suppose. They're the same as the energy saving bulbs only a lot bigger. There's a new one just hit Australia of 200watt with a seperate small blue ballast (about 5cm *10cm*4cm) that suppose to be better than a 600 watt HiD. The 125 watters and less have a ballast in the bulb mounting. They come in two flavours 6400K (blue spectrum) and 2700K (red spec) I can't give the links, do your own search. I can't really give them a %100 stamp of approval as I have only had them for less than one month BUT I can say I have had marked growth in that t…

g'day peoples, yes you read correctly. wade is goin indoors....well sorta. ok....i've got a cupboard that i'm gonna use for cloning, mums and growing out (before putting in ground.)when daylight hours become too short. The cupboard is 2metres high,2.5 metres wide with a depth of 60 cm. my question is: which would be less expensive to run. a 400 watt hps or 5or 6 cf''s.? many of you know i grow outdoors, so i'm a bit of a newb when it comes to indoors and lighting so any suggestions and adsvice would be appreciated p.s i should mention that do already have 5 cfs to use 20 watt each are all i can get up here unfortnately thanks heaps wade

Hey, I got 11 seeds 5x outdoor temperate(from Canada) and 6xMalawi Gold (also from canada) in soil waiting for them to sprout. I have them inside under 50 watts of cool Compact fluros. Is this optimum enough conditions for them to sprout. i also just put 5 of the malawi gold in rockwool with them. They are all in a humidity tent. Is this cool.

I have heard two schools of thought on this topic, so i am interested to see what you guys have to say. Which type of reflector is best for 600w hps lamps?? Vertical lamp position or horizontal? China hat or winged type? I have heard arguments for each style of shade. What do you guys think? Your practical experience out weighs theory any day. Cheers

Hi to everyone A cool site, nice to know we have one to go to without the mention of all the American products to use that we dont have. Anyway, to start with, I have converted a closet 4' wide x 2' deep x 6' high. I have a 250mm extractor fan at the top and a 200mm inlet fan at the bottom. I have set up a 600 watt HPS light. In there is 8 x 10" pots full of expanded clay. The bottom of the pots are all linked together via T-pieces to return the nutes to the reservoir. There is a small pump which delivers the nutes to the top of the pot. This is set on a timer I have an aquarium air pump with 2 airstones to aerate the nute tank. Is all okay so far ? Right, lets get star…
