Has anybody used the 12V H.I.D's intended for car head/fog lights.. if in the right spectrum range for growings (veg/flower) how did these perform? i have seen them on ebay for decent prices.. and 12v would work well if i decided to hook up a lil stealth grow in the boot of a unused car all help would be appreciated.. and any input.. Thanks

High all Am looking at making a carbon filter sort off to add to my extraction fans inside a small grow cupboard. 850x550x1750 of the top of my off head. It consists of 2 x 120mm 240v fans running through 2 seperate lines of 125mm flexi vent into a 100mm two into one(y curved shape) pvc pipe and out the top right hand side. My ? is ,would it be effective to mount the filter directly on the back of the fan with the air pushing through the filter or would it be best to mount it further down the line where the air flow is not that great and the air drifts through. Not exactly sure what rating the fans are but im guessing they are about 108cfm Or would it be better to s…

hey up stoners , anyone used any of these fans before ? they are 12 volt 10 inch thermo fans for a v8 i think , i was going to wire em up and use them in my new vegging wardrobe .... what do ya reckon ? would they work ? any help would be great ..... i got a pair cheers ev

High there everyone, My ballast box (400W/HPS) is making a ticking sound for up to an hour before my light turns on, could this problem be anything other than the globe (only 2 months old). I have had the ballast and box for a few years now so mabey it's time for new gear?

Been looking for a decent bulb for indoor growing iv heard about sunmaster but found another breed with 55,509 lumens of output with a colour temperature of 2093 kelvens and a colour rendering of 30 sound good or stick to sunmaster does anyone know anything about bulbs cheers

Merry Chrissy first off, hope you all have a great holiday! now to the questions... Im going to make or get myself a Carbon filter over the next month or so, but i would like to get the fan and ducting now for temp reasons, but I would like to know if i can get away with a in line fan (300L a sec) on a 300mm duct going through a carbon filter or am I going to have to go centrifugal??? im trying to keep this as cheap as possible as usual Cheers

Does anyone know of an australian distributer for electronic ballasts. They say they chew a little less power but increase the lumen output. If i order international, the 240 volt version, it surely would need the wall socket changed. Will i run into any problems there? The rest of the unit complete should be fine i hope Anyone with experience in this Cheers

Thanks to everyone who helped me out with all of the cool tube info. I suppose I forgot the most important question: Is there a loss of light causing a noticable loss of yield when using the cool tubes. I do plan to take out that crappy piece of reflective foil they put in side the tube, and then mount my batwing over the cool tube. Really appreciate any comments. aussie1

Hey stonnies Was speaking to a guy at the local Hydro shop and he was talking about swapping the globe for a flower spectrum when im ready to flower, im just wondering if its worth another $80 or if he is just trying to milk me? so has anyone used on of these and did it work wonders for you? ps im growing SCROG

I have read a few old threads about members trying to find cool tubes for HID. I know that they are now freely available, but was wondering what sort of temperature drops you guys were experiencing now that you have used them for a while. I was quoted $130 for the 150mm diameter for a 600 watt, and I have to purchase the ducting and the fan on top of that. Any info much appreciated. Regards aussie1

Hey guys I need some ideas ,, I got a room 3x3x2 mtr ,, its only source of of ventilation is 2 x 100ml x 4mtr long pvc pipes , the pipes run straight up ,, the room has aircon and only 2 x 400watts ( clones and mum) . Now I want to have a carbon filter on the intake to catch insects and mold spores in the air . What size fan ? what size filter ? remember it must pull the air 4mtrs down a 100ml tube and through the filter , I was thinking a 150ml fantech but not sure , what do you guys think . Thanks Rod
