Depending on the situation, there are several ways to apply diatomaceous earth: around the house, in the garden, on your pets, and many other places. It comes in a loose powder, so it can be messy to use without applicators or measuring utensils. DE is most effective when dry because the diatoms will vigorously absorb unwanted spills and smells, or dehydrate insects. However, there are also circumstances, where a wet application is needed. Either way, DE will be effective once it dries. When applying diatomaceous earth (or any fine dust) in large amounts, you should wear gloves, a face mask, and protective goggles. This is to prevent irritation to the skin, eyes, and lung…

Hello stoners, After growing in coco for a few years, I've finally been invaded by fungus gnats, quite a sizeable out break by the looks of things. There are an abundance of threads already dedicated to this issue, with a lot of good advice, but I still have a few questions. Just to give you an idea of what I'm dealing with, I grow in 50L pots, with straight coco, with the exception of 2 plants I have in a Hortico/Searles mix as an experiment. Now, I only feed once a week, so my medium being over watered shouldn't be the problem. To combat this problem I'm going to let my medium dry out completely, then drench with neem oil, wait the required 5 days and repe…

hey guys just thought i may have discovered from my earlier post that i have some sort of mite, i have lots of perfectly circle eggs on my leaves but am yet to see one crawler, im using 100x scope but still i cant see any movement besides the circlular eggs. has anyone dealt with these mites before? my plants are showing some symptoms of what is described to be mites on other websites, although broad mite eggs arent circular. i have also heard of the leaves having tricombs on them but im still unsure of what to look for. if you put a 100x lense up to your plants leaves will you see small circles around? or am i defiantly infected with something. the eggs are spread none r…

Hi all, I have a little black/dark brown beetle invading my crop. I have seen the odd one of these in previous years, but certainly not in the numbers they are in the Longbottom Leaf pictured below. Fuk! Hadn't seen just how bad they are until I expanded the image! Crawling in the bastards it would seem. So, anyone know what they are? if they are a concern? how I get rid of them? This the worst affected plant by far and has maybe a month to go...

“Integrated pest management (IPM) is an ecosystem-based strategy that focuses on long-term prevention of pests or their damage through a combination of techniques such as biological control, habitat manipulation, modification of cultural practices, and use of resistant varieties. Pesticides are used only after monitoring indicates they are needed according to established guidelines, and treatments are made with the goal of removing only the target organism. Pest control materials are selected and applied in a manner that minimizes risks to human health, beneficial and non target organisms, and the environment.” G'Day OS Most of us tend to wait to see if we have a…

Apologies before hand if this is common knowledge, i did a search but couldn't find many posts on it. So after successfully dealing with a fairly bad spider mite infestation i've found a bit of info out about the 3 products that may be helpful to others. So my infestation poped and i kept reading about how good Azamax was on all the overseas forums but i was unsuccessful finding it here in OZ. I did find out about miterid though and ill tell you now the stuff is pure gold, it probably knocked out my infestation after the first application, but it is definitely history now after a second application 6 days later. More on what this has to do with azamax/eco-neem in a …

G'day Guys & Gals! I am currently growing Northern Lights and my plant is in the vegetive stage young with about 8 nodes, my shade leaves are roting half way through the stems and dropping off, not all of them but I am concerned. I am growing outdoors in the ground, I worked the soil with sheep manure and pelitized fertilizer a month before planting. I am not overwatering as my first thoughts this was the problem. I have reserched online but can't find a prognosis (techy talk!), I am going to buy some Mancozeb and give it some curative doses in the coming days and weeks. Any ideas or experience with this? Appreciate any feedback. Cheers Nells

http://www.realfarmacy.com/rollie-pollies-remove-heavy-metals-soil-stabilize-growing-conditions-more/ Turn over a brick or a board that has been lying in the yard for a while and underneath you may find a collection of pill bugs scurrying about. Also known as “rollie pollies” or woodlice, these grey-colored creatures can be found in many dark, moist environments feeding on decaying matter. What’s interesting about these critters is that they are not bugs at all. They are crustaceans and more closely resemble crabs and shrimp, not insects. They are characterized by their ability to roll up into a ball when they feel threatened. Another unique feature is that they have se…

Hi everyone, I've been searching through related threads endlessly to try and diagnose my plants deficiency but I'm still not sure what's going on with them. I was wondering if anyone could help me out that's had a bit more experience dealing with them than me since this is the first time I've ever had a deficient plant. This is the White Widow And this is the Blue Dream I'm really not sure if they are even suffering from the same defiecncy, symptoms are a little different I feel. It's probably worthy noting that these plants are not yet on full strength nutes, more like 3/4 due to some set backs, so they may just need a full feed to fix them? Thanks in adv…

Wondering if anyone has ever had cannabis plants in flower when plague locusts have come through their area? Wondering how much damage they do, and if they eat everything, or just the shade leaves and leave the buds alone? We have plague locusts in the region, but not at my local area, yet. But the numbers of the small hoppers in my grow area are on the increase, and we are a chance of getting hit by the swarm. Plants are all well in flower, between 2 and 5 weeks off harvest. It's too late to spray with eco neem, and wouldn't want to spray anything on the buds at this stage anyway. Being a guerilla grow, it's probably not realistic to use some form of physical pro…
