Hi, Although I dont have a grow myself. I am watching a friend grow his and learning all I can before I bite the bullet and start a grow. Now I checked on his grow this morning and found some weird shit, his top leafs are curling up bad almost looking like a tube kind of, it doesnt appear to be a nutrient problem as hes only running at approx 1.2 EC, and his Ph is 6.2, his nutes are well oxygenated by a airstone. It cant be heat as he actually overkills the ventilation with 2x 250mm hydroponic fans. The light is approx 2 feet away from the tips. heres a leaf-

Firstly, I want to say hello, from the U.S.A. I have grown a couple successful plants, but lately I have had a problem. Here it goes: I have started four different crops within like the past 2-3 months. I have no problem germinating, or sprouting. That occurs without a hitch, but that is about the end of it. The plants don't even develop the first set of 3 bladed leaves. When they sprout they are kinda yellow, but after a day under the cotyledons are green, and they are standing up straight. From there the first set of real leaves grow in, and then they just seem to stop growing from that point. I have no idea what it is wrong. The first time I had some schultz gardenin…

Hi Well I 've got some good news after amputating the branch with the male pods I got back to it after about 3 days and everything looks sweet no males flowers that I can see plenty of ladys flowers coming along nicely checked again 7days after amputation all ok. keeping my fingers crossed about 3or 4 weeks to go at a guess still keeps growing upward though have to keep tying the heads back down and trying not to burn too many, also installed one of those ablite heat diffusers i had from years ago to help things along. Howdy fellow Ozstonerz , I am currently doing a test grow in my cab the Tuggernaut which I am still fine tuning and I have a Very Berry grown from seed that I'm using as a test pilot before going into a full grow. It has been growing in a small rockwool cube in a small pot of perlite (never grown in this medium before) that I had lying around. She is about 6 weeks old now and has been under a 400W HPS for approx 2 weeks. I am using Canna nutes [Vega A & B] and was feeding her 1/4 strength nutes up to 4 weeks while she was under flouros; foliar feeding and misting twice daily. I kept her at these nutes for a few days when she moved under the HID and stopped t…

I'm growing a Bronze Whale atm, he's been slow from start but i thought i'd let it go and see how she went. she's always been behind the rest of the plants in speed but seemed to be doing ok. now....... problem.......... I tipped the sucker and wierd shit is going on. The 2 new branches came out but also the main stem (that i tipped) is still trying to grow. it looks like a worm, all twisted and shit and the leaves on the end look nuffin like mull leaves. more like chilli leaves. do i cut the top off? let it go and see what happens? or what? thx pplx

heh stoners, ... So there are pretty distinct symptoms that will tell you that you have over-fertilised your plants, the fan leaves will tell you soon enough. But i was thinking more on the side of leaf diagnosis and watering/ moisture levels, ie from looking at the fan leaves on a plant that is relatively healthy, correct PH, healthy root structure, showing no signs of being over-fertilised, can you establish whether you are under or overwatering or whether you have too much light/heat or a combination of all these factors. So like without moisture meters, picking up pots, temp. guage... whatever, no tools, can you diagnose from looking at the leaves only... if …
