URGENT-i just smoked aphid spray

I just took some leaf of a 4 week old plant and mulled it up.I only had two cones and it tasted bader than usual(for leaf)then i felt funny,different and then remembered i have sprayed aphid spray on it one day ago.My back is a bit achy and i think my pupils are smaller.

I really feel strange,should i go to emergency NOW?ASAP.its been about half hour now.please respond now.TY.

ok man, don,t panic and go and ring the doc you should also ringpoisons imformation centre on131126.

 

if it's meant for fruit and veges it should be ok. i'd still call the numbers though. have a look on the container. it should have first aid directions on it.

I would not take any medications without first finding out if they could cause an adverse reaction with the poison, the poisons information line would have the best information on the effects of inhaling smoke from the burning of the relevent chemicals.

Maybe try labelling the plants that have had chemicals on their leaves next time?

I see from the post times that approx 45 mins had passed since ingestion. This would give a pretty good chance of no immediate danger as toxicity would likely be much more evident via smoking by then. Still very bad.

In this situation my best advice would be:

1. Get the bottle/whatever that contains/contained what you think poisoned you.

2. Don't bother with poisons information, they are very unlikely to have information on the effects of smoking aphid spray, as few people have ever done it, so they'll tell you to go to the hospital anyway.

3. Ring the hospital emergency and tell them exactly (from the label) what you took and how you took it.

4. Get to the hospital via ambulance or friend, but don't drive yourself, and take the bottle/whatever with you.

By the time you get there they'll have contacted poisons information themselves and make better use of the info than you would anyway.

Obviously accidentally catching a whiff of some thinners while mixing paint doesn't warrant this, but if you think you may have poisoned yourself this is the best course to take. Some signs of poisoning don't occur until the toxin has nearly run it's course and then it's too late.
