Recently I have found a scorce of Lophophora Williamsii aswell as Trichocereus bridgesii, Trichocereus pachanoi and Trichocereus peruvianus seeds plants and cuttings. Unfortunatly for me these are in NSW but lucky for me I am hitting NSW over christmas. So i was planning on dropping in and grabbing some peyotes for myself and a bunch of seeds to plant. Perhaps i may start selling them to people interested in the not too distant future but at the moment i was just wondering if anyone enlse wanted any aswell if i can manage to get some. To my understanding these are the prices: Peyote Lophophora williamsii Cactaceae cactii 1 packet $22.00 Peyote, from Lophophora w…

Study: Sacred peyote use safe THE ASSOCIATED PRESS November 8, 2005 BOSTON - A study of the effects of peyote on American Indians found no evidence that the hallucinogenic cactus caused brain damage or psychological problems among people who used it frequently in religious ceremonies. In fact, researchers at Harvard-affiliated McLean Hospital found that members of the Native American Church performed better on some psychological tests than other Navajos who did not regularly use peyote. A 1994 federal law allows roughly 300,000 members of the Native American Church to use peyote as a religious sacrament. The five-year study set out to find scientific proof for t…

Hey all!!! Having withdrawals from EBA being down and need to get a bit of info on removing a pup and rooting the disc. I forgot this board had an ethno section as well hehehe. One pup is going to come from from a rooted midsection and the other where an arm had been removed from an established cactus. So yeah, if someone could give me the rundown I'd be very greatful. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v605/klausen/lophophora_veredelung_04w.jpg Lophophora Williamsii on Pereskiopsis spathulata I allways had a high rate of aborts when I grafted cacti, thats why I wanted to try to make it all from sterile material grown in plasticboxes. Most of the time one looses a grafting because of fungus infection even if you use a sterile scalpel. Thats why I nuked all the boxes before planting of seeds. http://img166.imageshack.us/img166/6978/hpim05358dj6tq.th.jpg http://img316.imageshack.us/img316/6980/lophophorawilliamsiijordblandi.th.jpg The eksperiment started october 2004 http://img316.imageshack.us/img316/6488/lwpseeds8ya.th.jpg http…

Gidday, I have a cactus that my mrs gave me, its made up of small balls that are spiky. I dont know its name and cant find a pic of it anywhere. Anyways it has started to flower and has the most georgeous red flowers on it. But what do I do to get this thing to seed?? Also A neighbour has a cactus that looks like those ones in the cowboy movies . its columns that are as tall as his house. So if anyone knows a good site with pics of common cactus etc I would appreciate the links. Cheers :reallyexcited:

Ok well I am going to assume you already have your cactus or succulent cutting, I will just refer to cacti in this tutorial but that is just because it is easier for me that way the rules apply to both though What you will Need 12 ltr minimum container (you will need to repot into a larger pot later) Cutting/Clone Hormone (powder or gel) Medium of choice K well first you need to get yourself a pot or container for the cactus, make sure you get yourself a pot with good drainage, anything that you have used for a hydro grow is generally perfect after you have cleaned it. Once you have your pot you need consider a medium, when you are thinking of a medium f…

Somewhat like the member Dragibus, I too have a reasonable cactus garden. Included in it are the usuals, the pachanois, peruvianus, and a few bridgesii monstrose aka Penis plant, cordobensis and now quite a few Hoodia gordonii. (Hi Gomaos, is that elusive species Dragibus curiousa still growing well? SL. ;-) ) When i get my digi camera fixed (or get a new one) I'll take some pics.
