peyote seeds

Recommended Posts

I was wondering what the shelf life of peyote seeds are ? I got some seeds from amsterdam in 2003 tryed germination back then using what i thought was a good method for cactus seeds , ie putting them in the medium and covering with glad wrap , once sprouted poke some holes etc but didnt work ?( this methods worked for other cacti that ive sprouted ) So i have the other half of the seeds probably about 10 ready to try again , but im thinking shelf life might be a prob ? Any ideas also is it possible to get peyote in oz ? Thanx in advance :smoke

the fresher the seed the better chances you have ofcourse but I have had Cactus seeds that where stored properly still quite viable after five years not sure on the exact for lophs as I dunno too many people with the seeds that let em get to that stage  .

something to consider though is that with cacti ( and quite a few other plants ) is that sometimes you have seeds lay in the ground dormant for that long before they get the right germination conditions to grow

Thanks pure , yeh that makes sense , theyd be lyeing in desert conditions for quite sometime .Yeh i put about 6 in and they didnt come up , i was bringing other cacti up at the same time and wasnt a problem , maybe peyote are more tricky ? it made me hesitant to put the rest in through fear of waste and failure thats why i have some left , once again cheers.
