I was just sorting thru some old pics and I found this one of a bud from an early system. This was from a plant grown in 2 x 4 inch rockwool cubes(one on top of the other) surrounded by expanded clay in a 1.5 litre basket. The baskets sat in kitty litter trays and wicked up the nutes - they were plantastic nutes at that stage. I flushed with water once a week. It shows that big solid buds can grow in simple cheap passive systems. Point : THey were however grown under a 400 watt hps, not flouros. I think one of these costs about $150 - 200 with a ballast nowdays. So, a tip to newbies, put your initial money into a good light and a pair of fans. Youre lookin at about…

I am looking for a method of storing hooter for up to six months without freezing. I have heard that vacuum sealing works. Anyone tried this method or have another idea apart from smoking it quicker. Thanks.

Anyone ever seen this before? I have seen similar, but on a larger scale. This size seems more realistic. This is directly from The Pollinator Company website. I am cautious of cutting and pasting, so I have edited it a little: "The Pollinator Company is proud to be the European distributor of "THE CAGE". It is the newest and most innovative product on the market. By using the Cylindrical Growing Technique, you are maximizing your growing area. THE CAGE takes up only 120 cm squared of floor space; thus utilizing the vertical space that has previously been saved for plant height compensation. You can expect the same yields as two traditional flat 1.25 m x 2.75 m garden…

Leaves curling up?

I have six plants under a 400hps lamp.. They are growing in soil. I have just switched over to 12/12 cyle. For the past week or so the leaves have started to curl up. They are not drying out and they are still nice and green. This is happening more on some plants than others... I have been told this can be from overfertilising them so I have just been feeding them plain water ph 6.5. Just wondreing if anyone else can help with what may be causing this.. Thanx GrowMad

I use nitrozyme as a foliar spray from clone until about a week before bloom. It bushes everything up, but I read somewher the other night you should mix it with 1/4 strength nutes rather than filtered ph'ed water. The bottle says water. What's everyone else reckon?

Do any of the more experienced growers have opinions on how vegging a plant too long can lengthen the time it takes to flower fully? Any experiences with this? Ta (Your plant's cannot 'see' green light. Try painting yourself green and see if they notice you - a good birthday party trick)

I've tried out Headrush (a proudly Australian product) a bioponic mix for this run. It all works well... res maintanence is way down and the ph is pretty stable. The manufacturer says to maintain ph at 6.8, but this seems a bit high for bloom. Has anyone else used it? I would think that even though the nutes are mainly organic (which run at a higher ph than normal) there would be a lower optimum ph for bloom as compared to grow cycles.

G'day dudes: my first post here!! I'm a small outdoor grower have been for the last 6 years. I'm interested to find out how your experiences with growing Aussie strains & overseas strains have turned out. Over the years I've grown: Yr 1: Aussie Sativas; Hydro Indicas Yr 2: Sativa Crosses of some type Yr 3: Crimson Wowie (a homegrown strain given to me by a friend) Yr 4: Skunk (from overseas) Yr 5: Bushfires Yr 6: This time I'm trialling 3 strains: -Coogee Red -BL -North Coast Bush I found that the Skunk, even though the smoko was totally mind-blowing, didn't take as well as the Aussie strains. It took a lot of extra effort to keep it healthy. Mostly me &am…
