hey ive got and outside grow @ the moment of 5 plants and at the end of this month im going on holiday for 1 or 2 weeks and wanna make sure my plants are ok when im gone. Because it can get pretty hot throughout the day they need watering every second day. So far ive got a plastic water tank thing that holds 9-10lt and drilled a hole in the bottom and put some irregation pipe into it. Sort of a drip system and the end i crimped it and put a pin hole for the water to come out. The result is a small water drop that continuosly drips slowly out. i understand that everything else being equal, hydro will generally grow faster than soil, but my question is that is there any difference in the actual quality of the finished product? same question for fluoros. Yield will suffer, but will the actuall product be the same as if budded under a hps?

Hey, i'm planning on growing soon as a few of you know, and i'm wondering if i should make some clones from a mother and have a seperate scrog, unless it's more hassle than it's worth... advice would be coocrzc p.s.i'm a firsat timee grower

Hi All, Pic was takin about 4 or 5 weeks ago, I've had him/her under a 12/12 cycle for 1 week, 2 days, and it's getting rather large. I've read that a satvia's flower cycle can last upto 20 weeks!!!! If this is the case, how much larger might I expect it to grow?? Currently it stands at 54cm. I've recently (last weekend) lined the cupboard it's growing in with aluminum foil (dull side out) to try and increase the amount of light getting to the plant, but it's rather noisy now (i've got a desk fan on continuously to try and keep temps down), can anyone suggest a quick/cheap way to cut down on the racket? hey, i'm planning on growing in the next few weeks and i've never built a grow room before. I wouldn't mind raking in a couple Os from the whole thing and i've been doing research about homegrowing for about a week now(about 6 hours a day) so i have a fair bit of info. My friend Stinky Pete (I have a strain named after him, he gave me the original mother of the line) showed me this technique. He's a bit of an old timer and he doesn't like fancy new fangled things like screens, so he just breaks his branches and bends em over. It's a bit more of a careful process than it sounds. If you feel the stem you will notice it's hollow, but stringy. If you squeeze the stem and slowly bend it over, it will fold, just like a straw. (practise on a straw till you know what I mean) The woody 'skeleton' has been broken but all the'skin and veins' of the plant remain intact and it will heal within a day and start to grow on this angle. hey ozstoners, i have just been reading up on all these SCROG & SOG set ups but im still a little undecided which one to go for i have attached a pic of my set up except for the resavoir which holds 35 liters and at the moment im growing in a built-in wardrobe thats 1 foot by 6 foot so i dont have allot of room but how much room do i need to do one of these set ups and can i expand my current set up to suit them or is there any other ideas on how i can expand my set up to get bigger yields

hey if i utrn my lights down from 12 to say about 10 hours within the flowering period will it.. help speed up the flowering process.. i ask this coz.. my buds dont seem to b gettin any bigger... and its on the 7th week.. of flowering and i was going to flush on the 8th.. or r my eyes playing tricks on me coz i watch them too much..?

I was just sorting thru some old pics and I found this one of a bud from an early system. This was from a plant grown in 2 x 4 inch rockwool cubes(one on top of the other) surrounded by expanded clay in a 1.5 litre basket. The baskets sat in kitty litter trays and wicked up the nutes - they were plantastic nutes at that stage. I flushed with water once a week. It shows that big solid buds can grow in simple cheap passive systems. Point : THey were however grown under a 400 watt hps, not flouros. I think one of these costs about $150 - 200 with a ballast nowdays. So, a tip to newbies, put your initial money into a good light and a pair of fans. Youre lookin at about…

I am looking for a method of storing hooter for up to six months without freezing. I have heard that vacuum sealing works. Anyone tried this method or have another idea apart from smoking it quicker. Thanks.
