Howdy all. I'm wondering if I can use a fridge as a resevoir chiller???? My plan is to run a copper coil through a fridge I ripped out of a caravan and pump water from the resevoir, through a long length of copper pipe and back to the resevoir.... Any ideas on if this would work???? And if it is worth a try where should I put the holes in the fridge??? In a few grows I'll be running a few more lights than usual in a room too small for them, but I can't afford the extra wattage of an air-conditioner to cool it down and the cost of water chiller's is ridiculous. take care

hi all, out here in the boonies, we've been on water restrictions for 6/8 months cause our town supply is a series of man-made lakes on the Darling river which itself is drying up fast(cause of cotton growing I reckon) Because of massive salinity in the water thats left, all the local growers crops have died and ours are flat out producing 1-2 oz per 5 foot plant ..the ones that didn't keel over that is! Does anyone know of a cheap home made filtering setup...things are getting desperate round here

Time for a change? How often should you change your nutrient solution? That's one of the most common questions asked, and one of the most difficult to answer. Many people have tried to come up with a simple, easy-to-follow rule - once a week, every two weeks - but they're all wrong! They're wrong because there is no simple answer. It all depends on the species, the number and size of your plants. the capacity of the reservoir, the kind and quality of nutrient you use, water quality, environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity, and the type of hydroponic system used. Instead of a simple answer, what we need is a procedure that takes many of these variables …

G'day g'day... I wanted to start a general discussion just about hydro nutrients...so we can share information about this strange and omnipotent technology... Would be really good to hear from some oldtime growers who have been around since the early days of hydro and who used to make do with buying granulated chemicals and making do by doing thier own chemistry etc. etc.

Hi all, Just wondering if the wrapping paper with the one side being silver is any good for my walls. I've got heaps of rolls of this and would like to use it if its any good as i'm to tight to spend any money (What a lie, I'm under the thumb and all known cash has to go toward getting the kiddie room ready for the unborn) If she finds out i've just sent cash away for seeds i will never need to worry about her falling prega's again. If anyone has used this or knows if its any good, Please let me know. Thanks heaps, Much appreciated, Paranoid.

I had some pollen blowing around my grow area a month back. I'll wipe/sweep/vacuum as best as my questionable work ethic will allow. But do I need to worry about any residual pollen seeding my next crop?

Was in a store today, and the guy that was there started to ask me about my system, and I told him it was bubblers. He didn't know what that was so I explained it to him. obviously he's never seen or heard of it before. Fair enough, hydro stores wouldn't make as much money if everyone knew how to build their own cheap & easy bubblers which grow just as well or better than any of their premade systems. then he took a call while I was there. He told whoever rang up that he couldn't grow a mother under fluoros. They were only for rooting clones and would only keep plants alive for a short time and he needed a Son-T or Sunmaster light for his mothers, which is just…
