Hey all, hope your week has been good. Got a little update to share.

My reflector finally arrived so I've set my CFL up properly. Still hand watering/draining which is quickly becoming the task people told me it would.

I've just ordered some 5 gallon fabric pots from ye olde eBay - can I ask at what age should I transfer them to their forever homes?

And has anyone got recommendations for a cheapish, simple watering set up? I've got disabilities so I won't be able to lift these in and out of the tent much longer

Much appreciated :)

I know you've ordered them already but 3 gal fabric pots would easily have been enough and lighter than 5 gals. They are cheap if you want to change your mind..

As SNG mentioned, a central res would be ideal. Either drip system or a timer setup to water daily with hydro halos or similar (I'm a big fan of HHs). MLG

A drip irrigation might be your easiest method. Then it's just maintaining a central reservoir, which can be external of your tent. An automated drip system running 8 hrs per day. Never used cfl alone for flower. You won't need to irrigate as much as under hps for example.

I've got two red/blue LED panels waiting to go for flowering :)

I had no idea how big a gallon was I have to admit haha, I've emailed the eBay store and changed my order down to the 3gal, thanks for the tip!

Was only $20 or so for 5 of them, not a bad price

I'm sorry for needing to be spoon fed but is a drip irrigation something I could set up after a trip to Bunnings?

And would it go something like this?

Timer > Pump in Reservoir > Main hose connection > 4 off-shoot hoses into a Hydro Halo around each plant

Those Hydro Halos look great I'd not seen them before. Assuming they're an online purchase...

Another dumb question - how do you manage the flow of water to a drip? Is this something the timer does or is the type of hose I use?

Appreciate the help from all. It's nice to visit a peaceful forum!

I'm sure others have dialled in their drip systems but I was constantly fiddling which sort of defeats the purpose of automated watering. Even one pump with 4 offshoots I wasn't satisfied I was getting equal in each HH endpoint. I ended up getting 4 x Aquaone 102 model aquarium pumps. HH have a 13mm connection as do those pumps. 10 meters of 13mm flexi tube from bummings is about $10. Each pump $30 also has 13mm connection. 4 individual pumps give me confidence I'm getting equal flow to each HH. I have another in the res going 24x7 just to keep the nutes mixed. My res is 60 litres - a black storage box from bunnings with a lid I've drilled into for the tuning out.

The timer will set you back $50 and programmable in 1 sec increments.

Like I said, that's me. There are smarter and more capable ppl than me here who I'm sure have setup simpler and cheaper.

Might wanna just check you aren't warming your res up too much with 5 pumps there brother. I'm constantly fiddling and rebuilding mine haha, does my life in. Lost 130l thru the plants today haha fuckin pump got stuck on i think. I think once I'm all setup for my next run I'm going to buy a bigger pump and setup a more permanent irrigation system and fixtures for the plants to sit in so I never have to move them haha
