I am just wondering if some gower/s who have experimented with lighting cycles could answer a question and maybe give a few pointers? If you have a seedling/clone on 24/24, what would be the best way to put it outdoors with the least amount of stress? Do you reduce the hours slowly until you get to a certain cycle then put it out or what?

Hi guys. Back again. I am still working on a saving enough for a light, 400w HPS Son T. However, I have heard of grow cupboards and stuff like that but can you grow plants under a light so the breeze can take the light-generated heat away, and supply fresh air for free! No fans even? Or would I be ripping myself off? I have a room that gets morning sun, 7-10am and afternoon sun from about 2-6pm. If I use a growlight for 18 hours + the bonus sun, could I expect a half decent yield as such? Anyone else tried this at all at some stage? Feedback appreciated. :-D

Being relatively new to this feed im in need of some expert advice. I have finally started to build my stealth cabinet. Dimensions are 65cm in length 85cm in depth and 150cm in height. this setup will house one intake at bottom of cabinet and one exhaust fan outlet. wondering what type of exhaust i should use (size etc) and what wattage of light. i really want a 600 hps but not sure if heat will be a problem. Do u think i should go for the 400 instead? also wondering if someone can explain to me what a bat wing shades are and a brain box???

Bulb flicker

I just bought a second-hand 70W MH security light and it seems to flicker a bit - is this just a worn bulb or could it be something else? The ballast has the wattage rubbed out and also one number of the model number - its a HMV0*0 FSNNN [* = unknown]. It has 'for 70W MH' written on it in nikko but Im a bit suspicous that it could be a dodgy ballast? Its a very bright lamp for 70W.

Hi, I have just installed a 250W hps in my cupboard grow room. I have very little height to work with, my babies are about 3 foot away from lights. They are showing signs of leaf burn and are curling downwards which I know is a sign of overfeeding so I have washed the grodan blocks through and started using a 10% nutrient solution rather than 1/4. I have not given them enough time to see whether or not is overfeeding but just to cover all angles I was hoping for some advice on the distance of the light both at this stage and later on in the growth phase. They had developed a white mould and I was using a solution of H2O2 and bicarb of soda up until a couple of day…

Thanks to white_cluster who pointed out the ebay auction, I'm the proud soon-to-be owner of a 400w light & ballast for $106 delivered to my door. Someone recommended to get new globe for it so I'll do that then get the rest of my shit together ~

hi peoples' just came back from our local auction house, and picked up a brand new 4ft fluro for 5 bucks. i've just got to hook a lead up to it. it has a single 36 watt tube. cool white. my question is. will this be o.k for clones?should i pop back down and grab another?would another tube be better. i would have to buy it from a retail store as there isn't a hydro store for 300k's. all advise and tips would be greatly appreciated, as i have never cloned under light before. thanks heaps wade

G,day stoners I have a 1000w MH above my girls at the moment, I have just picked up 2 400w HPS but the trouble is that where I have them they won't let me put any more lights up because off the power( even though I pay the whole bill) they are just a bit scared. I am in my 3rd week off budding would I be better to put up one off the HPS or leave the MH going;. I would love to use them all but have to wait till next grow. Any thing would be great Thanks BB

Is it true that green light doesn't affect your plants in the dark cycle during flower? So if I want to do something in there in the dark I can. Does this just mean a green coloured normal light bulb or what? also, is it true that if you use green buckets you don't have to lightproof your rootzone? making them light proof is a PITA. Someone told me to just get green coloured buckets and I won't have any root or algae problems. I never heard this before so am a bit skeptical.

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has tried using those new florex bulbs for the vegative grow cycle I am just getting ready to get started and was considering using florex bulbs during the vegative growth cycle then switching over to HPS for the budding cycle to save on electricity and to be able to get started without laying out as much money right off the bat . If anyone has used these lights I would appreciate any info on the results. Also, I was told that florecents almost always produce male plants Is there any truth to this?

OK Ladies, the vaz-o-tron is goin in for a service and in all my time I have never improved upon the shitty little light reflector I got with my kit when I started. Well, I say "No More". I saw a bunch of hood on the net etc shops etc, . What's a good one for a 400 watt, roughly metre square cabinet? And what about air cooled? Are they heavy? While I'm at it, does anyone use sunmaster globes? I saw yet another rave about them. I tried one once, but I swear the yield was less than with my son T, and the fucking theing blew after about 4 months.
