Hey all, I've allways run my fans 24/7. One hydro shop has recomended I turn off my fans when the lights are off and start them half a hour after the lights come on so the plants can use the co2 that has been produced during darkness. Dose anybody else do this ?

i am a long time lurker, first time poster..i have just purchased a 400w metal halide, and it's all going well, though i am unsure at what stage to put my plant under the light. i think i know the right hight but don't know how old/big the plant should be..this is about the size of it now..also it's pot of gold from the flying dutchmen..any help would be greatly appreiciated. this forum has been a godsend. :thumbsup

can i use floros i cant seem to save the cash for a 1000 watt but floros i can get for free could i make a room that had floros on all of the walls and celling and grow that way or would that not work im thinking each is 40 watts so if i et 20 then that would be 800 would that work???

The more you research something the more confusing it gets. Does anyone have info on these two brand names. For the same size the Mountain Air is $130 cheaper, is this a bad sign, or my good luck. Don't want to make a mistake because it is to replace the shit of a thing I already have but does not work. HELP!! PLEASE!! Aussie

ok i was doing seedlings under my bed and then i moved them to my guys house then a week and a half later she freaks out and say get them the hell out of my house compleat reversail but oh well so now they are back under my bed i raised it a few months ago 9 inches its a queen size canopy black iron it is about 2 feet off the floor bottom of matress to floor what im thinking is i can just keep raising it every week or two right now i have the floros hanging from chains attached to the bottom of my boxspring i took the thin layer of material off so you can see the wires without obstrucrion whats the closest a 400 watt light can get to a plant is my question i would ha…

Hey Oz Stoners Ive just germinated 4 seeds and have sowed them in cubes of R.W and have had them sitting about 5ml from a 40w fluro for the past 3 nights now [18hrs]. None have broken the surface yet. [cubes watered once when fisrt sowed] Considering it took a day to germ, there process hass just seemed to halt compared to growing in soil with sun. Are they establishing good roots, am i doing somthing wrong or is this normal? And just quickly does an overcast day produce better lumens than a 40w fluro? Thanks again newguy

ok i can buy ballasts on ebay for 30 f40 bucks so i would need the bulb and a reflector and thats it right the bulb 30 at most i hope ballast i can manke so does this mean i can just buy the light reflector and ballast diffrently and only have to spend 1/5 of the price thats great please tell me im right todays been a good day i dont want this to not be right it would put a black spot on my day

Question. My friend told me today that if your doing a small indoor grow using compact fluros (as i am about to) that it is good for the plant to have a CF and a normal light bulb. Apparently they cover the spectrum better (CF's being blue, and normal bulbs red), as this would do them better thru veg and flowering. I have got 2 CF's (15W & 18W Energy Saving Warm Whites) and am wondering what would be better, the 2 CF's or 18W CF plus a normal 80W light bulb? I'm also pretty sure that the "Warm White" CF's are more in the red band, less in the blue, if anyone knows for sure, i'd appreciate an answer. Also, no replies telling me I'm a fool for growing with CF's …

OK this is the story i have 2 150w ballests that can run a 150w HPS or Mh globes (i rang the companey that make them as i wasent sure about them and thay told me that i can run both HPS and Mh in them) i did a bit of ringing around to get pricers on globes for the HPS globe started from $45-$59 witch i dident think was to bad but it when come to priceing a 150w MH the price started at $65 :thumbdown witch was a spin out because i through thay would be around the same price but started to get getting up in price why this is i havent got a clue or was just ringing the wrong placers :scratchin . So here is my question for the people in the know on this type of thing could…

i knw this is a pointless question but how much could i expect to get off of 20 bag seed plants grown to about 2 feet tall in soil under a 600 watt and 8 florecent bulbs on the sides of the plants another question i heard that you are not supposed to put any lights under the plant as it will burn the bottoms is this true or would it help if i put 1 under the plants also
