running a 175W bulb in a 150W is bad for the ballast, and for the bulb.

Coil ballasts have a fixed poweroutput, no matter what bulb used, it will always give the power it was made for.

Now, your bulb requires more than the ballast can support, you'll get a hot ballast.

 

i'm with MADOGA, your bulb will not produce the spectrum and lumens you expect it, plus the safety risk.

I have been doing a lot more ringing around looking for 150w mh globes, the place i found were i could get it for $65 is on the gold coast and i am on the sunshine coast and thay wouldent post it to me and it a bit far to travel to get it, i was just about to give up then i tryed one more place farly close to were i live and can get one for $70 so i got them to order one in for me.
