US prices for hydro lighting are expensive. You can get better prices for those lights from retail shops in Australia!

Yeah, they use 110v and we use 240v, it would burn very bright for a very short time, sort of like a camera flash.

does that mean i should buy my light from aus??? instead of usa im looking o save money any way possable but the outlets arer diffrent and im not sure how much it would cost to send one over seas

There's a current auction on ebay for 10 400W HPS bulbs for $350 and free shipping from WA. Seller appears to have good feedback and has been around for a while.

He's also selling bulbs individually. I haven't been able to find any info on the net about this particular brand of bulbs, though, so if anyone has any comments (pro or con), I'd be grateful to hear them.
