I have MH lighting on several of my aquariums. There is a wide choice of color or spectrum of of light output. Not how much but the color. 65.00 K (kelvin) bulbs put out a yellow wavelenght !0,00K bulbs are more white and 20 k bulbs are blue in color output. I don't see these choices with the MH grow lamps . I think around 65 k bulbs( puts out light in the yellow spectrum )are good for plant growth. All I see is full spectrum bulbs. But these must have some sort of specific color or at least a small range of color output . A bulb putting out light that covers the entire color spectrum, from red/ yellow to white/blue also! is this right? I need t…

Ok I got a sick ass light. It is a horozantal light with a built in ballist. Im using 350wt metal halideIts a hydrofarmer. its on 18/6 If the damn thing would grow I would put it on 12 and 12. Its 19 days old. Im going to go flush it just incase. Thanks guys for all the help. I will post a pic of my light mhen it turns on. Has anyone ever heard of this brand before?

I am contemplating a stealth-grow in a 90cm x 45cm x 20cm server case I have lying around the house, and I was wondering what kind of lighting would suit something that size. I had been thinking about using a 150w HPS but I can't find them anywhere and the next closest one is a 250w which is probably way too much heat in such a small area. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm new to the whoel indoor growing and my seedlings (liek 3") are under an 80ish watt bulb but its not fluoro, i have a compact fluro that doesnt fit into the light, do i have to use it? if its necessary ill merely cut the light fixture open so it will fit but im just curious if i can leave them under the regular house bulb if theyll grow

I have a 4'x4'x7'h room, I have a 1000w hps now with a real noisy ballast. But wondering if I should go with a 600w son t argo instead, would it make that much differance in my yeald. Will be going to shop tomorrow and would like some ans. by then and why you would make the choice you give me. Thanks much.

Hi, about to grow in a 2m x 1m x 1.8m area. Trying to decided whether to go with 2 x 400hps or 2 x 600hps. Would there much of a difference in yield between the two? Growing SOG for the first time(though I've grown bigger plant crops many times). What should I go for?? Also what light would you suggest for keeping mothers in a 3' x 3' area? Obviously I don't want them growing very fast. One last question, how long do most of you keep mothers for?

have got phillips HPI-T PLUS 400 watt conversion bulb...works fine for veg... what are other people using????? why does the price jump so much up 2 to 600???? what would you say is the highesat performing 600w bulb???

Just to give anyone who cares an idea of how much it will cost you to run an indoor set-up… I just got our electric bill, it went up $220ish more than usual. (S.E. QLD) I’ve been running 600w @12/12 40w fan @24/7 and cheap bathroom fan for exhaust running @ 24/7 But what I got for that $$… 8oz smokeable bud 20oz+ leaf/ cooking buds (thanks again to all who’ve helped me through my first grow!)

I saw a 70W Verticle HPS security light at at the hardware store today. Thinking of buying it until Uncle Sam pays be back the money her borrowed last year and I can invest in true lighting. I was planning on building a small grow box (apx 14"x14"), with air extange once a minute. What spectrum should I check for and how far should I have in from my plant? Any tempature advice would be helpful. Thanks.

Hi peoples today is the day i finnaly clean my shed out too much junk Building up. Before i throw this stuff away i thought id show the cooler i used for first grows its easy to make and pumps out a steady 23c constantly. the pics are good enough to show how she works. Is filled with 30lt of water maby ice too if its at the peak of summer, the pump is missing but use your imagination. the fan bolts straight to tub and a pot funnels down to a standard 250 mm duct. It a very good unit and easily made for less than $80 the better the fan the better it works.

i just bought a new 150w MH lamp i pulled it apart to find it has a ballast, capacitor and ignitor on the ballast it says 150w HPS/MH anyone know why this metal halide has a ignitor and does anyone know or heard of a 150w MH and HPS being compatable without switchable control gear?

Having read thru most of the posts relating to ventilation, I noticed that one of you guys is an a/c engineer… was it pipeman? Anyhoo, I’m sure lots of you guys can help me as it is mentioned a lot on many of the forums I have visited. I am currently in the process of building a new grow enclosure in my garage as I have been struggling with temps in a cabinet grow for some time.
