I just installed a 10 inch vent thru the roof . I used 5 ft of flext duct from the roof vent to the ceiling of my project room. I assume it's best to extend this intake vent down to the floor. Will a 10 inch duct handle a good amount of air flow? Where can I find some picts of vent setups for larger rooms? I'm working with a 10 by 10 foot room. I assume a small fan on this intake side will hinder a much larger fan on a separete output vent.

Hi all! Hoping you may be able to help me with this little issue: I purchased a couple of new lucagrow globes, a 400W and 600W, off ebay, along with a ballast for each. The package arrived today, and upon opening the box and moving the bubble-wrap I heard a little squeak! Upon closer inspection it turns out that the filament in the 600W squeaks when the globe is moved. Now, I don't have a shade/globe holder to plug this into the ballast to test it out, and so have no way of knowing if this is a faulty globe or not. Is this normal, or does it sound (haha get it?!? ) like a dodgy light? Just need to know now, as when I get the shades in a few weeks I don't wanna plug th…

It’s been running for more than 8 months and working great. I have set it up drawing through a layer of zeolite as a filter. This layer is adjustable in thickness according to the strength of the odour to be removed. The tray that holds the zeolite can be totally removed to increase flow or when there is no smell and the filter not required. The room air and the cool tube setup both get filtered. It also doubles as a drying box……..note the wire racks at the top in a channel. The expelled as is ducted out the bottom and and exhausted. The pics are with the door removed.

I am in the process of buying ducting. I have picked out some stuff from hydro aqua pet but cannot decide between the following. First there is this ducting which is black on the inside but silver on the outside. It looks at though it has no wire to keep it in shape but it is alot cheaper (I save $20). Here is a picture of the first type I speak of. The second type is black on the inside and on the outside as well. Other than that it seems to be the same except it looks as though it has wire support coils in it. Please tell me if it's worth spending the extra for the black/black ducting as opposed to buying black/silver ducting. What are the pros and c…

As some of you would know by now from my chatroom visits, I am getting the equipment together for my first grow. I have a 1000w MH light which I will be putting into a plywood and panda film constructed room. The room will be 1.5m by 1.5m and 2.0m high. The room is located in the middle of a spare bedroom and will be 99% airtight and 100% light proof. I have some questions about heat and ventilation if someone doesn't mind helping me out. I am going to connect up 3m of black 250mm ducting to a 250mm 220L per second bathroom exhaust fan as my intake which will sit at the bottom of the room pushing air in between the two tubs. The ducting will run from a small open …

A picture of a CF globe, these can be bought at the local supermarket. I have found these lights excellent for mothers and clones, they can be used for growing but HID's are far superior for normal sized grow rooms. CF’s are available in either the standard bayonet style or Edison Screw (ES) as pictured.

Hi everyone, At the moment I have a MH 1000w UNIVERSAL Sylvinia/Sunmaster globe. I am wondering if this is the right type of bulb to use? I am thinking of purchasing the Sunmaster COOL 1000w globe. Then in time for flowering, have purchased a WARM 1000w globe also. If the bulb I already have won't do the job that is. Could someone explain this situation to me please? EDIT: Should I use the Universal globe for veg and buy a WARM globe for flower maybe?
