Compact Fluorescents

Recommended Posts

A picture of a CF globe, these can be bought at the local supermarket. I have found these lights excellent for mothers and clones, they can be used for growing but HID's are far superior for normal sized grow rooms. CF’s are available in either the standard bayonet style or Edison Screw (ES) as pictured.

I use a standard desk lamp with a 20w (100w output) CF to add a second light over my clones, the main reason for the wattage rating on the lamp is that incandescent globes put out a lot of heat, CF's don't. Make sure you get one with a strong support, CF's are fairly heavy.

i called bunnings and they have those lamp cord things for "around the $40 mark" so i think i'll jus grab one of them and a cf rather than buying more crazy desk lamps =D (i already got 2 $20 lamps and the plants aren't growing at all really) B)

thnx for all the help Tom and ClosetCultivator
