Yes I know there shit house fans but I have had these since my first indoor grow attempt.didnt want to spend a shitload on my first try.since then I moved outdoors as I'm out bush and there's no better condition then outside in summer.I have 2 8" growlush fans setup in my 1.2 x 1.2 2m high tent.they are fine during the day but just alittle on the noisey side at night so I'm thinking of grabbing a smscom dual fan speed controller.I've heard crap fans let out a humming noise so I take it the growlush fans will.how loud is the humming compared to full speed on a 8" growlush fan.dont really want to hand over thatmsuch money for a temp control unit if the humming is as loud as…

hey guys, i have a question for the tent growers in here. im looking to head inside with a 3x1.5x2m tent. the plan is to run 4x600w in there. i would like to hear from anyone who has this kind of setup as to whether i could get away with running the filter/exhaust fan to run straight through my cooltubes and outside, all in one system? the plan would be to use 8inch cooltubes for max airflow. anyone have this experience? i dont want to have heat issues first try. also the can max pro series fans..... anyone tried these new models? thanks in advance

Hey guys and gals.starting a long awaited herb grow in a 1.2 x 1.2 2m grow tent.have been doing abit of research on the best way to keep grow temps stable ect fan speed controllers, thermo controllers, digital thermo controllers which most are growlush brand and i've heard not so good things from them.more looking to just control temp by intake and exhaust fan.I got put onto this by a mate.sms 4 amp hybrid fan controller but it's just alittle out of my price range for the size of the grow.can anyone else reccomend a product like this but abit less on the back pocket also if you have had good luck with the fan speed controllers and thermo controllers let me know.thanks for a…

Hi all. I have zero experience with lights and indoors, so I need some help please. Been doing much reading here and everywhere else, the more I read, the more I get side-tracked and I can't find information that covers my whole question. Q. Can I get advice on suitable light(s) for 3 - 4 humidity cribs ( enough for 100 clones) and I would like that same light(s) to be used later to Veg 8 - 10 mothers? Just to expand, I have 100 outdoor seedlings, way to many to manage. I want to force sex by taking a clone of each when there a bit bigger ( when I first tip them, I'll take a clone off the top is what I'm thinking). This will get rid of all the boys. I can th…

I just can't figure out this timer... I will post a picture of it and hope that someone else has experience with it. I bought it off eBay, and it has a Growlush sticker on it just like in the picture. If you haven't seen one of these before maybe I can explain the basic parts: - There is a 24 hour dial surrounded by little blue plastic things... apparently you push these things in or out of position depending on whether you want power on during that 30 minute period. - There is a switch between Auto and Perm. - There is a switch that controls on and off for manual control. I've tried everything I can think of and it just doesn't seem to pay any attention to the settin…

Looking for a LED in Aus that would suit a 1200Wx600Hx600D small cabinet grow. 2-3 plants. I was thinking I could make my own with a little research depending on what I need. Are these 120W LEDs any good? http://ledgrowlightshop.com.au/ Point a fella in the right direction please...

So, I've been looking at getting a digi ballast with dimming function, specifically the 600w Lumatek with the 4 settings from 250w to 600w boost, with a Gavita globe designed for digi ballasts. I'm hoping to get some answers to a couple of questions about the effects of using the dimming function, and hoping to avoid a debate about mag reliability vs digi performance. The big one for me is to do with dimming down to lower wattage settings. They say you can use a 600w globe at any setting, or a globe matched to the given setting. I change my globes very regularly, so a short drop in globe life is of no concern to me, so I was hoping to use 600w globes at the lower set…

Hi everybody, I plan on starting my first (semi) indoor grow soon but I'll be transferring the plants outdoors after 2-3 months depending on how quickly they grow so I only need the lights for seedlings/young plants and maybe cuttings in the future. Does anyone have experience using the 80W Philips CFL's (5300 lumens?) for a grow from seed? How many plants per light could I grow in this scenario? Also from reading I've done the light should be 4 inches away from the growing medium when the germinated seed is planted and 1-2 inches away from the seedling once its developed, is this right? Sorry if the answer is obvious but I could only find info on mature plants, not se…

Hey guys, I've been looking around for some time now doing research on cfl light fittings for grows. I've come to the conclusion that it is impossible to buy easy cheap and efficient fittings such as those 2 socket Y shaped fittings the US have. If anyone has knowledge or experience on this topic as to where I could buy some of these bad boys similar to the US ones (cheap effective and easy cfl fittings - up to 80 watts) that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time gang

Hi OzStoners, Currently have a cheapy xtracool tube hood for my 600w in a 1.2mx1.2xm tent. Not entirely thrilled with it's output - while the cooltube is good, I don't think the spread of light is as even as it could/should be. The height the hood needs to be to spread evenly but not be too far from the canopy seems a bit off - only by my eye, haven't used a light metre yet. So I was wanting your thoughts on what might be a better alternative. Temp isn't a huge issue I've noticed over all but the hottest part of summer (which I'm not expecting to be using equipment over anyhow), so an open reflector like an Adjusta-wing (Avenger) could be a goer, though I'm not sure i…

Have a can-filter with a 100mm inline duct fan, lit up an incense stick to test for odor control after setting it up but the smell of the incense was still venting out of the exhaust duct, it was much less intense, but nonetheless it was still there. I'm not using a mixed-flow type of fan or centrifugal, just a regular inline fan, if I put my hand over the filter I can feel a slight movement of air. The fan was taped directly on top of the filter the first time then tried with a piece of ducting between them, there was no noticeable difference. I would like to get to the bottom of this, any ideas why the filter isn't doing its job?
