http://www.news.com.au/mercury/story/0,228...5006550,00.html Stoned stupidity GREG BARNS April 09, 2007 12:00am Article from: The Mercury Font size: + - Send this article: Print Email ANOTHER week, another series of headlines and stories about the impact of illicit drugs in our community -- and, naturally, more calls from the law-and-order brigade to jail people who take illicit drugs or traffic in them. Of course, it won't work. The war against drugs, which most Western societies appear addicted to, is simply a scandalous waste of money, resources and lives. Politicians fulminate about the evils of drugs such as ice and heroin, and judges and magistr…

"Pot. It mightn't kill you, but it could turn you into a dickhead" Ads target cannabis smoking teens A NSW anti-cannabis campaign will target teenagers as they travel to school and surf the internet. NSW Health launched the $600,000 campaign, which it says is designed to warn the 14 to 19-year-old age group on the dangers of starting the marijuana habit. Print advertisements, carrying tag lines such as "Pot. It mightn't kill you, but it could turn you into a dickhead", will appear in youth magazines and on bus stop posters. The ads feature a person staring accusingly from a black and white photo and quotes such as: "You've got great eyes, when they're not bloo…

Check out this article from The Age March 25: http://www.theage.com.au/news/national/the...4597954395.html I really don't think people are switching to E's when they normally smoke weed but I certainly haven't been able to get any pot recently although I only have a couple of dealers which both seem to be dry at the moment.

http://s58.photobucket.com/albums/g270/reecePhotophucket/th_addiction_.jpg © 2007 ABC. A few months ago I predicted the introduction of a "treatment" for drug users which would permanently alter their brain chemistry making them "immune" from drugs. Whether they are endogenous (like endorphin or anandamide) or exogenous (like heroin, nicotine or pot) drugs are a natural and very important part of life. ABC's Catalyst has been pointed out on this forum before for its government-friendly "War on Drugs" stance. An example was when they reported some morgue findings about a year ago regarding the presence of cannabis in car crash victims as supposed to be showing that m…

Every section of the small brick home was used to cultivate the plants except for part of the kitchen and one room. Officers descended on the Mildura Drive home about 4pm and seized more than 15 mature plants, some up to 2m high. When officers executed the search warrant they found a false wall near the entrance and a door in the kitchen. Both led to a large room where the plants were stored under lighting. There was also a drying room and seedling room to assist with production. The occupants …

Hemp ice cream anyone? Dr Keith Bolton sees the production of industrial hemp as a potential boon for Australian farmers wanting to get out of the cotton or sugar cane industry. http://www.echonews.com/pictures/13_11/sm_fp_100_1559.JPGHe said hemp can be commercially viable on land lots as small as five hectares if the plant is used not only for its fibre, but also as a food source. He said hemp seed contains no THC at all (the component in cannabis which creates “a high”) and can be used to make hemp milk, hemp tofu and hemp ice cream. The plant also has a high yield, with two tonnes of seed produced per hectare. “Humans have been eating hemp for at least 8000 years o…

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/section/1/story....jectid=10427931 "A woman who called Napier police this morning to report a burglary became so upset she broke down in tears - although the police communications officer who took the initial call couldn't stop smiling. The call left senior sergeant Mal Lochrie shaking his head as he explained that the woman had called to report the theft of three marijuana plants which she had growing in pots outside." I'd prolly be crying too.
