Hey guys Has anyone ever tried pool filter sand as a topping on coco to control fungus gnats ? I figured it would have good drainage and be quite coarse .. guessing more accessible and cheaper than diamateoucos earth etc .... ? Posted from the OZ Stoners mobile app

Hey crew For anyone interested (know porky asked as well) battling fungus gnats in coco thought I’d start a seperate thread for people to search on topic . Bugs for Bugs Pty Ltd told me to contact them . From EcoGrow , A predatory natural enemy of the fungus gnat that are called ENs - Entomopathogenic Nematode. They are tiny microscopic worms, barely visible to the naked eye. As the name suggests they are insect killing (entomopathogenic). $66 inc shipping . http://www.ecogrow.com.au/zencart/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=7&products_id=9 I’ve attached some screenshots for everyone who’s interested Cheers Jimboss Posted from the OZ Sto…

Hi all. My mate is forum shy and overly sensitive and paranoid about discussing his grows. He has a 400 watt hps, pro pot system like mine in a 0.8x0.8x1.8. He’s very neat and tidy. Has a clean setup. Very fussy. This is his first rdwc grow. Normally soil. He has produced some nice buds and yields which I have personally tasted. He’s stressing about these drain flies. He has kept it at bay but has a few wrigglers on the roots still hanging about. He has used neem oil, performed countless flushes and ran some peroxide through regularly from the hydro shop. He’s a few weeks into flower and she’s thickening up and drank a litre of water last night. I guess he’s out …

First time grower here. Please help. The end of some of my buds have gone brown and crispy. I have been reading about mould and sounds like it starts in the middle of the bud and grows out toward the tip. Do I have that correct? Does it sound like mould or something has just burnt the ends. Perhaps too much foliar spray or something. I am growing in the ground outside.

Only my 2nd grow and my first soil grow. These little buggers showed up a few days after I up potted to a big mix of super soil. Kinda look like fungus gnats, but I'm not sure. I gave the soil surface a good dusting of DE and I'll probably spray with But Out. Early veg still, so no worries about tainting buds....

Has anyone actually used the Californicus from bugs for bugs ? I have 3 tubes and it says release 10-20 per m2 ... fuck knows how to calculate it .... I was going to just pour all the tubes evenly into all my plants (the more the better ????) do I just pour them on the soil and they make there way around the plants or do you pour over the leaves etc ? Someone mentioned if you pour it over the leaves it sticks to everything - I’m not in flower yet so not fussed about the leaves sticking but someone mentioned they were removing bits of vermiculite from the buds they were smoking months later

So I’ve got the dreaded spider mite on one of my two outdoor ladies. Ordered 2000 Persimilis and released around 10 days ago. The spider mites still seem to out number the Persimilis by a fair amount. Basically I turn over leaves and still see mites but very rarely see any Persimilis? Anyone else had experience with the effectiveness? I was going to order more but not sure if I’m being impatient.
