I'm a newbie so hang with me. The Topic Description basically says it all. Would a 400w lamp be detectable from above? (Hellicopters etc) or is it not enough heat to show up?!?!? Thanx Peoples..

help with seedlings

I have some seedlings that just broke through the rockwell cubes yesterday afternoon. Today I noticed that the two "leaves"on a couple of seedlings have what can be best described as putting their arms up. Both leaves reaching for the sky. They are in a humiity dome, with 2 x 20watt fluro's about 6" above the dome. I also have a fan blowing on them. They are in a cupboard, with the door open. I have been watering them with "pure water" and also put a small amount of water in the base (not in touch with the rockwool) The taproot on one of the plan ts have broken through the bottom of the rockwool cube, and is about 2 mm long, curled like a pigs tail. If I want to measure substances of a pound at a time, which are the best scales to buy? I bought some digital scales $27 AU fishing scales that you hold in one hand it has a hook coming out of the bottom and you use it to latch onto fish to weigh it. the brand is INSPRA from Perth bought on ebay. Has anyone used or heard if they are OK?

Hi all, Getting some scales and was wondering what the standard measurements for a foil, a 50 bag and 100. I can work out how much an ounce or pound should weigh (duh) but what would be a good size. I know that quantities will change on fixed priced sales due to quality etc, but how much are we looking at for bush and hydro? Thanks ppl.

I have a few plants doing fairly well, i'm just curious how much fert. i should give them and how often! I use 20 20 20 and i do every other watering. i water once every 5-6 days. they are in veg growth and under a 95 watt compact floro! Cheers

hi guys. you know when you get them plants where 3 leaves are coming from one internode instead of 2. They all males I reckon, they all show as males in sexing anyways, and there usually runts too, maybe they reverse males I never grown em out that far.i had a friend who had one that wasn't a runt but it was still male and she was pissed. Anyway am I just tripping or am I right??? if I am why is this the case?? if the trait was stabilised could it only be stabilised into the male population, it could make the sexing of seeds alot easier. But there fucked up nature to me suggests they might make herm seed or something, no clue there, but yeah.....

Taking clones from a flowering plant

To All that can help I was wanting to take a clone from one of my females to ensure i get another female. However it is obviously late in the season and I know that a clone would not grow much before budding. If i take a clone from a lower shoot that is flowering, will it still be successful? Can i do this by getting some rooting gel and then putting it straight into good soil? (and keeping it hydrated) . By the way, what is reveg? Any ideas, tips, and advice would be greatly appreciated!! cheers Negus

What exactly does it mean by "bud sites"? Is this sorta what you do when you grow with a screen? Make as much of your plant as possible come in contact with light, grow horizontally etc? How exactly would you do this? Sorry about all these questions....but I wanna be as well prepared as possible when I start my first grow:) Thanks Maynard

Hey all i had one of those nights were u just cant get to sleep as i was laying there looking at the roof i had a few idears on a small carbon filter, now what i need to know is it better to have the air pumped through it, like u have ya fan in ya chamber with ducting comeing off it to the filter (this can cause back presser), or do i have the ducting comeing out of my grow chamber going to the carbon filter and the fan at the other end of the carbon filter sucking the air through it and how much carbon shoul i use, the size of will be about 500mm long and 300mm round but that could change as i start doing it, so if any one here has build a carbon filter or has one that …
