General Cultivation Q&A

Im trying to improve my methods of growing so for my new grow I want to try new things. I was going to warm my nutrient temp. with a nutrient heater. I have a Aero grow were the roots grow in a chamber with spayers, It worked excellent last grow!!!! I had temps in the nutrient tank at room temp before like 70 would warming it to 80's degrees which will make it more humid and arrid in the chamber is this a good idea??? Also which are better heaters? Titanium or Glass, i thought that metals made nutrient blocks or seomthing?] KK

Hi guys, Can any one tell me what is wrong with this plant? It is sitting next to one that is looking quite healthy. Both are on the same nutrient feed line. Details are: Seedlings 2 weeks old ph 5.5, nutes 10 ( 700 ppm ). original water cf 3 Temp. above plants 25 - 30 deg C, water temp 25 -26 deg C. Using expanded clay in a recirculating system. Pump on 15 mins every 3 hours. Any help appreciated.

Happy new year fellow stoners I have got a few mothers going at the moment but want to let them grow a bit more ( a white widow, durbon poison,blueberry and a origernal mango). I just bought a diggy camera but my computer doesn't have a USB port it's a old computer just been upgreaded have one in the new year post some pics soon. Anyway I have heard that there may be somewhere I can buy some clones, at the moment I can not find any indoor anywhere plenty of stringey bush (near makeks u want to stop smoking). If anyone can help it would be great thanks punked

I am in the vegative cycle, and she is spreading out and running out of room. I have tied her down alot and is actually up against the wall. I dont think it will hurt it as it is so healthy, though my indoor experience is limited and I dont wanna loose a mad crop! Anyone have any tips here?? Thanks, anything will be appreciated hey!

Yeah... im thinkin of growin my own herbs coz my friend grows his own and they are much better thne the shit we actually buy. I have the basic jist of it and know what to do, but i just wanna know if there are any do's, don'ts and how to's about growing my own herb...

This is probably a stupid question but here goes anyway. If I dont ask, me like a lot of others probably wont know the answer. I am growing hydroponically indoors using expanded clay and a recirculating system. I change the water every 2 weeks and have been told to flush the pots with pH adjusted water until the output CF reading is the same as the input reading. When you have to flush 15 pots several times with ph adj water, that is one hell of a lot of water, not to mention the time, chemicals etc. involved in getting the water right to begin with. What's wrong with using ordinary tap water as after flushing, the clay in the pots is going to be fed with the corr…

Hey Buddy and any others who use it, why do people say dwc is simple. Is it real low maintenance or something? Most of the setups I've seen seem more complicated than a simple recirculating system. ie - all you have in that is one res and some trays to catch the runoff and drain it back to the res - not individual buckets and a control bucket and a space command centre - is it better for some reason? Like does the growth rate shit on a recirc system, etc... They seem complicated to me but I don't fully understand why folks use them. Could anyone who uses it clue me in? Cheers Vaz

hello again., i thought i might jump on the band wagon and put in my own grow thread. should be good for a laugh anyway. the thread will be about 8 c99 clones. o.k i took the clones off the mother about 4 weeks ago and were grown in styrofome cups in yates seed raising mix. the larger pieces of bark were screened and removed. the cuttings were approx 3 inches long and were placed in water for 10 mins,scarred(thanks w.c) dipped in hormone powder and were planted about an inch or so into the medium. the lights i used were 3 18 watt cool white c.f's. within 2 weeks clones had strong root system and were ready for light period to be reduced to 15 hrs. they were gently…

If ive had a few seeds lying on a bench for a few months in a bedroom, is thier any chance of them growing or would they be useless?

Hi to all, I have a couple of silly questions. Firstly, I have some seeds I ordered from seedsdirect, they arrived 7 days after ordering. They are: K2, B-52, Bubblicious & Northern Light X Shiva. All Nirvana. Because they didn't have Ice, they have given me 15 seeds of Skunk#1 and didn't charge me for the NL X Shiva. Unreal deal. I dont want to make the same mistakes that I made with my first attempt at germ. I think I overwatered them and also using 1/2 strength nute when they first came thru didn't help either. I am seriously thinking about starting an indoor grow with my friend, we don't have a hydro store here so would there be any outdoor nutrients that i would find at Mitre 10 hardware store or a garden shop that i could use in my buckets?? And if there is do you mix the nutrients at half directed strength??, I am thinking about having 4, 15 litre buckets under a 400w HPS, and in the veg part i was thinking of having 4 15 litre buckets but in 2 of them i would have 2 pots so i could start 4 clones off, and the other 2 buckets would have 1 pot each in them, these would be under a 400W MH, how much air would i need to be pumping into the buckets?? Also, where are all the place…

OK, I've read that if u cut off the very tip of the plant it branches into 2 more or somethin like that . Now correct me if I'm wrong cuz I've read alot of pruning and tipping but I still have no clue how the fuck to do it right. Well I cut off the top of my plant it's about a foot tall and I guess it's supposed to heal or somethin and keep growing. It's been like 2 weeks and nothin happened...It's still blank and the part that I cut is just brown on the inside and my plant hasn't grown an inch. ALL info/pics would be greatly appreciated on how the hell to tip/prune and all that shit. I'm clueless
