General Cultivation Q&A

Hey everyone my plant is about 20cm tall now and has leaves going off in every which direction but i think its stopped growing heigh wise and its only just stopped when i started giving it nutrients should i stop giving it to them? and before the nutrients the leaves stood out and now there kinda drooping down they havent changed color or gone brown in places or anything it just seems like there too heavy and kinda hanging there. HELP!

Out of interest I collected the water runoff from an airconditioner in a bucket to see how pure it was. I dipped in the truncheon, and got no reading at all. I thought it was broken, but no, I tested it on some tap water and got a reading. So does this mean my A/C water runoff has an ec of 0.0 making it ideal to use in a hydro grow? Can anyone see a problem with this? I reckon I could collect more than enough water to keep my small grow running.

i want to know how to get rock hard buds,every time i grow there hard until they dry then they tend to lose all there weight and go fluffy is it the stained or what?

I have some seedlings that just broke through the rockwell cubes yesterday afternoon. Today I noticed that the two "leaves"on a couple of seedlings have what can be best described as putting their arms up. Both leaves reaching for the sky. They are in a humiity dome, with 2 x 20watt fluro's about 6" above the dome. I also have a fan blowing on them. They are in a cupboard, with the door open. I have been watering them with "pure water" and also put a small amount of water in the base (not in touch with the rockwool) The taproot on one of the plan ts have broken through the bottom of the rockwool cube, and is about 2 mm long, curled like a pigs tail. Hey all, I have been reading up on all the posts and would love to set up a hydro one of these days. So last night I found myself reading through the latest Quokka ( Trading post paper in WA) and found some complete hydro setups with lights, fans, some with nutrients...everything you need for a grow. Some are already set up in cupboards etc. But I began wondering, what do you do for the smell, heat factor when you are renting or something along those lines? It's probably not the best to go around drilling holes through other peoples walls, ceilings etc. So yeah, I thought I would ask people what they do....are there ways to mask the smell just by using fans and stuff, wi…

When should i start giving my plant nutrients or ferts or whatever. Im growing outdoors in pots if that helps. And which ones should i use?

Hi all, Getting some scales and was wondering what the standard measurements for a foil, a 50 bag and 100. I can work out how much an ounce or pound should weigh (duh) but what would be a good size. I know that quantities will change on fixed priced sales due to quality etc, but how much are we looking at for bush and hydro? Thanks ppl.

I have a few plants doing fairly well, i'm just curious how much fert. i should give them and how often! I use 20 20 20 and i do every other watering. i water once every 5-6 days. they are in veg growth and under a 95 watt compact floro! Cheers

hi guys. you know when you get them plants where 3 leaves are coming from one internode instead of 2. They all males I reckon, they all show as males in sexing anyways, and there usually runts too, maybe they reverse males I never grown em out that far.i had a friend who had one that wasn't a runt but it was still male and she was pissed. Anyway am I just tripping or am I right??? if I am why is this the case?? if the trait was stabilised could it only be stabilised into the male population, it could make the sexing of seeds alot easier. But there fucked up nature to me suggests they might make herm seed or something, no clue there, but yeah.....

Hi, I recently purchased 4x 48w compact fluros for my fluro grow making a total of 5x48w. I am planning on wiring them tegother using paralell circuiting only i have a few questions for u Fluro professionals. I will ask all the questions i have regardin fluros here so save clutter in the forum. 1)If i have 5 to connect and one being the power do i simply just connect the first to the second the second to the third the third to the forth and the forth to the fifth. Do i connect the fifth one back to the first or not. cause i though the circuit had to be closed and if the last light isnt connected back to its origin being the power wont it be a bit dangerous or someting.
