General Cultivation Q&A

There is a company in canada building "mini grow rooms". There name is Suncell, They are using a new flourescent that utilizes an electronic ballast. The pros are no heat created by the lights, and they are suposed to have a faster "flicker" rate that is not noticed by the plant. I calculate they are getting aprox 40,000 lumens (aprox) with 8 tubes. Here is my question.... has anyone looked at this "new technology", if you have do you feel these tubes are a viable option for growing and flowering, or is this just hype? I apreciate your feed back as I am thinking of buying some to try and I really don't want to waste cash.

I have 2 unknowns under a 16W (55W output) cool white globe and a 35W cool white fluoros. I just put them in styrofoam cups and under the lights, they have big 'round' leaves, and 1 has a 'true' leaf coming out. I was wondering how when i should water them...?

Hello everyone,I got Manutec Bloom Booster 6.2/14.6/16.8 and Seasol can i add this on top of manutec?as i dont think its got nutes in it ?And should i still use the potash?What do you guys think 1/2 strenth to be on safe side?They have had straight water the last week thanks and good luck to everyone

Hi all. I was repotting some seedlings yesterday, and during the process I was thinking about how hard it was for me to know what to do until I'd tried out a few things. Many plants suffered at my hands because I was slow to do things, or too quick with others... Anyway, I thought about it a bit, and came to an idea. I'll make a series of photos on how repotting a small seedling can go. And here they are. The subject is a Dutch Passion Purple Star Seedling. Hi guys & gals, Iv brought a 250watt MH and made my bubbler bucket but I'm still confuzed. I know i need a pH tester, pH up & pH down chemicals. What else ?????

A few months ago I bought a clone from a hydro shop.She has now come to harvest time and I have found 3 or 4 seeds through out the plant. Does anyone know why this occurs? Also, can I clean my truncheon with a scourer? A friend has what we think is scarid fly.He is drenching now, but does anyone know the damage they can do, in terms of symptoms on the plant, the loss of yeild etc. They have been there a few weeks IMO. Really appreciate and thoughts or comments. Thanx

hey all how are u all goin i havent posted 4 awile as i waz paranoid as hell my babys across the padock are well into budding and a helicopter checking power lines went over real low i could see the pilot ahhhh but am quit shore that they couldnt see them with all the trees between them and the plants so fingers crossed made sum cookies 2 day ahhhh and il have some pics soon borrowin a digi cam and waz wounderin as well should i give my plant something other than rock dust bloodn bone and dynamic lifter like sum super or sumthing with sum more pottasium and phospurus in it a mate reckns it would make a fair bit of a diffrence it would in prove the buds fattn them up…

Hello. Can someone tell me why i have all these Yellow leaves on my plant ? About 15 % of the leaves on my plant are a pale Yellow. Theyre not burnt. the are still soft, but just yellow. The rest of the leaves are a nice green and are fine These yellow leaves also keep droping off after a few days. but as quickly as the yellow ones drop, some of the green ones start going yellow also and the vegetation on my plant is getting sparser and sparser !! I heard from someone it is a sign of lacking nutrients and i should vertalise them . Is thats true ? my dilema is the plants have started flowering and i also heard it is BAD to fertalise when your plants are in the flowerin…

I was wondering if n-e one has some good methods to share that could help me with quality of bud. For example I have one that helps with root growth. I put a plastic bottle(2 liter) over my plants, but first I spray the inside of it. Humidity grows and helps with good root production.

Hi, i have some cutting take off my mothers which are in flower now so if they are female the cuutings are good if they are male we bash the cuttings. Anyways i am flowering my indoor grow now and thinking about th next line of stock. Should i just get some top quality cuttings or seeds rather than go with a sativa based strain. what u boys reckon?
