General Cultivation Q&A

Hey all Well my new seedlins have pop ther roots through the rockwell cubes and have now just planted them into some cocopeat. I plan to put them in the GR in about 2 weeks but till then i have them in this bodgey setup. My Question is what do i feed these babies and how often. Would i be right in saying about 4ml total (2ml of each)of A+B vege nutrients to 4lts of Distilled water as a mix for them. Cheers

I read a post some where that said that deeper pots are better then the wider ?One person said he uses 2 liter soda bottles because ther long.Do roots go down more or out more?

I am interested in hearing peoples opinions and experiences regarding starting seeds under fluros or hps bulbs. I have heard a few people say that fluros give weak stalks and that it's better to throw them straight under a HPS bulb positioned some distance away. I have only ever tried the fluros but wouldn't mind trying it a new way - just don't want to bake my White Russian! I only have a 600W HPS with a china hat - would that be too much? Jimbo

Hi everyone I’m looking for some input You see my plants are fully budding right now, and I want to save them when their done, however I,ve taken “NO” clones  Ok Im thinking maybe GIBBERELLIC ACID TREATMENT : Select my favorite female plants and spray some buds to turn them male, Has anyone head of this being done? Ok the other alternative I have is, pull them out of the green house once harvested and put them on lights 18hrs + if anyone has info on this I would greatly appreciate it

I have made a grow box just for my seeds to get bout 15cm high so i can move them out side. The box is about 30cm High, 50cm Long, 25cm wide. i went down to the local hardware shop today and bought a workmen fluro which was like 11w and $60 i have stringed it to the lid of the box. i wraped the box in foil (dont critsise me). And my CS seeds have just popped out of the soil. i just leave the lid a bit open. the light get so hot i can hardly touch it. do i need a fan. if yes where do i get one cause i live in the city and i will need one which i will just have to plug in becuase i am not really a genious at electronics. Hey there all.... I am guessing I do? They have gotten this big because I haven't been able to see the upper tops without having a ladder and seeing flowering is becoming more and more apparent I have been interested to see what the tops may look like and to my shock horror! None of the other two plants are like this, I would just like confirmation before I pull this one also and I had better do it pretty quick as it's right in the middle of another two females. I am living in the Northeast. I want to start clones after the last frost but have some soil questions. 1) Can I use a shovel to turn the soil and just use the natural earth as I won't be able to water or fertilize? * I was going to turn the soil and maybe add something to it such as dolomite lime and some nutrients! 2) Is it totally necessary to add nutrients for veg and flower outdoors or can I use 1 soil with complete fertilizers to last entire crop?
