Hey guys. I just received Afghani #1 seeds and excited to start my first hydro grow. These seeds are regular, not feminized. Should I just stick them straight into my perlite/verm mix and soak with pH adjusted water? Or should I germinate them first with wet paper towel or other method? Should I germinate just 4 seeds for now or germinate all 10? Anything else I should be aware of for starters? FYI, I have grown before about 10 years ago in soil (first time hydro) so I understand a small bit about growing but I just want to make sure so I don't mess this up.

Does anyone know if the cheaper eBay versions of blu mats actually work? Or an alternative to them?

I have only just started using the Bunning's Brick Coco. Previous to this I have always used pre buffered Coco. This is what I started to do with the Brick Coco and 7 weeks in I really cant tell the difference between the $35 Bag of Canna Coco i have used for the last 10 years and the $2 Brick Stuff I'm using now. 1. Put the Bricks in a large pot with drain holes and pour 2 Jugs of Boiling Water to make it expand for about 10 minutes. 2. I flood it with Tap water (0.25 EC) around 4 or 5 times until the run off becomes clear. I don't bother getting the PH of the water right. I estimate I put through around 20 liters of water to get to this point. 3. I mix up 2 m…

Hey guys. I'm a bit confused as to which form of Canna I should get. I'll just be growing in soil, using normal water, indoor, hopefully using just the canna to feed them (and some PK13-14 later) Initially I thought the Terra would be the right choice but after reading the Canna site I'm thinkint the Substra... but everyone here seems to say the substra is for rockwool etc not ordinary soil Any thoughts?

So my autoflower showed it's first sign of life today, poppen up out of the soil! My mate gave me what he said was a 100w cob led light but IV just found out it's only pushing out 50w.. this is all I have got to work with for this whole 2 months of growing this autoflower. Should I leave my plant under the 50W cob led light 24/7 or leave the plant outdoors on nice days and then move inside under the light when the sun goes down until the morning and so on? Please help guys, thankyou!

Hey all, first time taking cuttings, they have been in the dome for 3 weeks, no visible roots as yet. I used clonex with the cuttings and they are in ezy plugs. I was wondering your thoughts about the first pic attached. To me it seems like a deficiency, could this be a sign roots are coming? Any advice appreciated! Posted from the OZ Stoners mobile app

Is there any point leaving the lights on before they pop up from the soil? When they first spout from the soil would they benifits from the lights staying on a day or 2 or going straight to 16/8h of light? And with timers is just any timer from Bunnings going to do the job or are some of the cheaper ones not so good? Thanks for any advice.

Hi guys , new to forum and am glad I came across it . Knowledge of wealth on some topics, nice pictures to of some strains I had no idea about. It’s been over 15 yrs since I’ve grown and I have not a great deal of knowledge on growing under lights . I’ve got a 600W led with reflector . I was hoping I could get 5 or six autos under it . Could it get some decent results or should I get another light in there .The good old sun never used to let me down , LED light have me overthinking it . My tent is 1.5 x1.5 . 2 m high . Any suggestions regarding the lighting much appreciated .

Hi all, new member here and fist time grower. I've picked up a bedside cabinet to make it a stealth grow box in my room. I've bought some osmacote seedling mix and 6x24w Philips cool white CFL bulbs and some festoon light fittings. I have hollowed out the inside and plan to make an oven rack type system on the sides so I can move the lights up and down on racks. I have some plywood that was a shelf in there and is the right width, would 6x24w CFL lamps produce too much heat to have then mounted close to the plywood shelf? I was going to line the inside with a reflective car windscreen cover and mount the lights horizontally with a mirror above them, would an ac…

My hydro shop dude recommended to wet the perlite/vermiculite mix and put the seeds straight in. Can I get a confirmation that this is the best way to go? I'm worried about the seeds drying out. Should I add nutes to this water or not until they get to a certain size of growth? I currently only have the nutes that come with the autopots (combined NPK of 4.5:1:5.6) Are these ok for a first grow? Also, he gave me a container of Cyco Ryzo Fuel. Is this something I add to the water straight away or should I wait until the plants grow?

Hey guys. Just starting out and have been scouring the web for all aspects of opinions relating to growing. One particular topic I can't seem to find alot on, is covering the soil around the base of the plant with a white or reflective ring. Ive seen a few vids where it looks like the grower has done this. (not just in hydro) What's everyone's opinion on it? Would it help with light reflection? Keep soil dry? Or is it a farce? Cheers!! Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk
