GOODS made from hemp cannot be outlawed by the US Government's narcotics agency, under a court ruling after a two-and-a-half-year legal battle. The ruling on Friday by the Ninth Circuit US Court of Appeals was hailed by a coalition of companies that make hemp-based foods including waffles, vegetarian burgers and nutrition bars. The court ruled the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) overstepped its authority by issuing a so-called zero-tolerance rule for the active ingredient in marijuana, THC, or tetrahydrocannabinols. And maybe he looks like the worst of baby boomers who has turned into a dysfunctional Dad stumbling about at home, swearing enthusiastically as he, his wife Sharon and their teenagers Kelly and Jack indulge in shouting matches on that fly-on-the-wall TV show The Osbournes. The news is that some think he is getting a lot right in his child-rearing practice. Ozzy might have his faults as a father. But two psychologists, whom the American ABC TV presenter John Stossel asked to evaluate the Osbourne fa…

THE host of a British radio gardening program apologised today for unwittingly giving a caller advice on how to grow marijuana. Frieda Morrison, who co-hosts Beechgrove Potting Shed on the BBC's Radio Scotland, said she had thought the caller was discussing cabbages. Morrison and fellow host Jim McColl spent more than three minutes explaining which compost to use and how to water the plant, which the caller referred to as Northern Lights - a very strong variety of marijuana that shares a name with a variety of cabbage. Speaking on BBC Scotland's Good Morning Scotland program today, Morrison apologised for the error. "We thought the caller had said cabbages and if …
