do you use any thing to help break down the roots? Or do you just pick them out as you go?

I leave in a tub,then pick the roots out

B4 use I flush it with PH water

Let dry out a bit again and good to go

Just check your run off when you re use it to make sure it's ok

Whatever I don't re use goes back into the outside gardens or compost heap

The stems run through a shredder and used as mulch

I try not to waste anything

My garden beds are looking a bit like that micmac. Great to use perlite in pots. Biggest stuff up I had with perlite was spilling half a bag full on the driveway when it was a windy day...haha. Using the fabric bags to grow tomatoes and other veges in now. Even with bad cheap potting mix with perlite the veges are going great guns.

Yep I tried mixing a big pile of soil with perlite on a windy day dumped the whole bag on top and it went absolutely everywhere not to mention temporary blindness from the dust in my eyes hahahaha

Put the garden hose in the bag of perlite, poke a few holes in the bottom

I've just got a bucket with small holes drilled out on the bottom. Rinse as I go.

yeh i just use an old large pot to rinse perlite.
