Unsure of budrot

Watering today and noticed a couple funny lookin dead leaves in the main cola of my plant . I pulled the dead looking leaves , felt the bud and it is not mushy and i could only smell the bud no mold.

She has about 2.5 weeks left and condition have been pretty good , 50-55% humidity 22-25 degrees . Tho yesterday morning the extractor fan was off for 2 hours during lights off due to a plug coming loose.

Hi Badseed,

It does look like early sign of botrytis, only happens when humidity gets above 72%.

This usually happens soon after lights out.:-)

Hey slipper .

 

Extractor fan stuff up happened just after lights out also

 

What steps would be advised ?

Hi badseed,

Providing you keep the humidity down it probably will spread no further. There doesn't look like there's any spore webbing which is the real danger sign. Once that appears it can go thru your grow over night. It was probably just a small breakout from the fan failure. Don't take my word for it though, see what the guys reckon. A hygro meter is always a good idea to keep an eye on humidity;-)

heya Badseed =) , ya need to chop that section of bud out mate, and a lil bit around it, to make sure it doesnt spread, if not you increase ya chances of mould appearing.

I usually go round my grow in flower and get rid of all the dead yellow leaves on the buds, (take the stem as well), should just snap off if they ready and really dry.

Keep fans goin 24/7 late in flower (including the extraction fan) , not worth the risk for a few bucks in electricity.........

Bullshit, it will spread through the centre of the bud... as Nibbler suggests, chop out the section of affected bud and a bit around it.

if you remove the section and let the region breathe and dab Dutch Master - "zone" onto the area with a tissue (it evaporates off quickly, leaving no residual) it could stop the spread of the infection .... its a chloramine product useful in killing bacteria..... it's also useful on powdery mildew etc .... i've used it for a while.. if in doubt remove the lot though, as mentioned by louise and hash nibbler... (and whomever else i missed) It can fuck with nutrient uptake and can murder your plant ... especially when it's left to spread ....

Will operate tonight , was unsure if the whole top had to come of or not . So close to the end i dont want to blow it due to this

Nibbler i have been running fans 24/7 to try and avoid this . Was just a fuck up on my part , i knocked a plug loose and did not notice untill it was to late .

i wouldnt even wait till tonite, slight light interupton wont hurt anything thisd late in flower, if 1 has rot i gurantee another cola will also.

 

U can try chop it out but i 100% gurantee that the mold spores have spread and if u dont chop the whole ting down pull all the bud off the stem chop out the mold and leave it under a fan u WILL LOOSE THE LOT

Those where my initial thoughts ppg . I am a complete newb and dont want to risk fucking up my 1st shot at this .

Plant had been quarantined had suspect chunk cut out ! Will axe tonight most likely
