Guys I'm new to this site, new to Mebourne but I've been reading this thread and you have my deepest respect. I will attend the HCA hearing if I'm able, pls post the hearing dates as you get them.

 

Regarding housing, I don't know if you've tried private, but local papers, notices on shops like laundromats in the area you're looking at, they may turn up something. Private is different to agents, your name on a data base means nothing. All you have to do is make a good impression, present a good reference that they can check, and show them the colour of your money.

chuffer owners have access to the database too, and it is now the owners who are refusing us housing, we have a couple of property managers in real estate who are trying to get us housing and have tried to convince owners, with no success so far.

 

So private rental is simply just as bad these days, and so much more expensive. they want at least $100 more for properties that the same type of home through estate agents, greedy bastards.

 

We will know on Monday if we got one we applied for earlier this week, and will go and apply for a couple of others Monday or Tuesday, Wednesday we must start to move things from here, so we have enough time to do everything we need to do to hand this property back on time.

 

It appears we are so toxic, that not even people known by Nimbin are prepared to help, the fear of back lash from police etc I suppose is a bit too much for some.

 

For those who want to come to the hearing, that will be great, the more interest shown by people the more interest there will be from media.

 

We are really looking forward to the hearing now regardless of where we are living, it will soon be over for us all.
