Hey guys thought i would put up a thread for us do it your self growers based on LED lighting technology, I'm using the following COB CXB3590 LED kit from Cutter Electronics 2x 12cm computer fans just basic models, these are to cool the LED drivers, one fan per each driver 2x OSRAM LED drivers from RS Electronics they are the 50watt 36volt models 1x 12volt 6amp power supply to drive the fans you can buy these and the fans from ebay some basic wire connectors, wiring, joiners, extension leads cut to make power leads, some aluminium angle from bunnings and zip ties on testing i am getting 139,000Lux which in LED is 250umol at 70cm from the lamps, these lamps in …

Guys are any of u running two fan silencers one on each side of your fan if so how much quieter does it make the fan? i can borrow a 100mm centrifugal fan for this run but its fucking loud a very whinny jet turbo like sound but i love the amount of suction it puts out, i was thinking of running 2x 100mm silencers @ about $200 i don't really want to buy a Whisper Silencer fan would rather save the $130 extra i don't have at the moment but silence is what i need must be very quiet when running any idea's? my filter's are 100mm x 300mm and a large 150mm x 600mm

First Hello fellow growers.. Found this site while looking for answers so I thought what the hell Ill join since its local and all.. I have been growing my own meds for well over 2 decades now personal use only and have been known to breed on occastions which i will trade. System.. My own design NFT/ Aero system with air injection and misting jets ( sort of like a clone machine).. I will share more about that later. I have used t5 and hps600 for years and years and well years.. I start and grow under t5 and once I have a good fill I swap to 600 to finish. I know this system and my breed very very well... I'm looking to upgrade my lighting as the unit is getting on in age …

I can remember seeing pics of grows a few years ago that were normal colour and the person had used some lens/filter that normalizes the grow room light a bit light method 7 glasses. I have hunted around the forums but get nowhere, does anyone know what you need to use to eliminate the yellow in grow room pics?

Hey Stoners, Was just wondering if you can exhaust the air from a tent through a cooltube with HPS light out into the same room the tent is in? Is it too dangerous or what precautions should be taken if it is possible?

Hi every one ,I read an article from the US that the ballast from HPS lighting puts out interference on the the CB band width that's is trackable by authorities. The suggest they can even tell when you change 18/6 to 12/12 and some people are being visited by boys in blue . Myth or not

I have just been looking into this again and i am wondering if any knows the difference between the 315w CMH with the pin lamp vs the 250w CMH that can run on a HPS ballast? i see one guy on ebay claims his 250 HPS ballast can run this CMH lamp but he doesn't have a listing for the lamp, later on a google search i found these http://www.eyelighting.com/products/hid-lamps/conversion-retrofit-systems/hps-to-cmh/ listing claiming CMH can run off hes HPS ballast http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/JB-250W-BALLAST-FOR-HPS-CMH-HYDROPONICS-GROW-LAMPS-/112029111766

Hi, a few years ago ii could buy large 48 watt cfls from bunnings for cheap but they don't stock anything like that nowdays. where could i get some affordable cfls? i actually still have them and they work ok but i broke a few so need some more soon, they have all done about 5 ot 6 small personal grows over the years and i want to start again after a break

G'day all. I currently have a small setup with a couple of plants in a 0.9 x 0.5 x 1.6 m tent. I have a 250 w hps in a cool tube for my lighting with some t5s for side lighting. My exhaust system is 4 inch carbon filter > cool tube > 120 cfm (200m cubed/hr) mix flow fan > ducting out of the tent. This fan should be more than fine for this small setup but I'm having to have quite a large length of ducting to exhaust my air out of a window. This fan I don't think has quite enough power to push the air adequately that far. Is it ok to have 2 fans on the same ducting? I'm thinking I'll put another fan half way along the ducting that is outside of the tent. Would th…

How much air flow will one need to push down a row of 4 x 150 ml cool tubes and take ALL air heat (around globe) away so that all Im left with is radiant heat ? Im running 4 x 600 watt down each line and have 2 rows meaning 8 x 600 watts in the room. How much radiant heat do you think would be left in the room if ALL air heat was removed down the tubes. The room is 1.8 W _4.0 L_2.4 H . Im dealing with constant 35 degree daytime temps outside, was thinking if I can make the above work I can run a small aircon to deal with the radiant heat , was also thinking if the 150ml tubes are too small a diameter to exhaust without blowing so much air down them that they whist…

Hey guys i thought this might be of use to some do it your self people that are either strapped for cash or want to set up a CMH light kit in one or by the dozen on the cheap without paying $500-$600 a light go onto the aussie web site called "RS Online au" type in CMH or "Ceramic Metal Halide" and u will have a multipal choice of lamps, ballast and control gear to chose from they have tiny 70watts up to i think 315watt lights from what i seen, the Americans now have a 150watt CMH grow light check it out this RS Online also sells the 150watt CMH but these lights dont come as kits u need to piece it together i am unsure on what u need weather it be a ballast, bulb, l…
