hello again, i've got 3 lovely c99,s about 5 weeks into flower. yesterday i noticed that 1 of my babies had had one of it's heads bitten off. i couldn't work it out. it was caged with good fencing and i hadn't seen a possum in the last 2 years. i water my plants from a 44 gallon drm.i put the lid back on the drum after each water. last water i must not have put the lid back on properly . upon checking water level about an hour ago, i found mr possum floating in the half full drum of water. i imagine that through the night mr possum must have came down for another nibble, got stoned, got a case of the dry horrors, went for a little drink and fell i…

White spots, possible mould
by Guest Giovani- 0 replies

Hey guys, i have 8 little babies in water right now, and i'm noticing white spots/slight fuzz or crystal. I think this is mold but i am unsure how to combat it. I am going to bleach the walls, but i cant do the floors, stupid landlord put carpets in and i cant remove it. I'm gonna spray them with fungicide. 1. Is this the best and or only course of action? 2. Is there any alternative solution to this problem. I'll see if i can get a digi and post pictures of the problem. All 8 are affected, the substance brushes off with light moisture and slight pressure from finger. However it seems to either re grow or re form in around 10-25 min

I had spidermites on my mothers so sprayed them with pyrethrum every 2nd day for a week. But they are showing bad case of burn, and yellowing leaves. I don't think its burn from the lights, as I sprayed them with lights out and sprayed with water after. I wondered if the spray went into the soil and the plants got poisoned this way? I will contionue to use plain water and hope they improve. What else can I do? Sorry no pics, I don't have my digi cam at the moment.

hello again, i've got this plant growing outdoors, a few weeks into heading and it is developing rusty little spots on the fan and bigger leaves. it seems to spread over the leaf until it turns brown and drops off. it doesn't effect the new growth, and doesn't seem to have stunted.(still growing well) all the other plants are doing well. only this one seems to be affected. it is not deficient in any major or secondary nutes. ph is also fine. any ideas?

I woke up to find a 2 week old seedling had been munched on during the night and being so small had collapsed under the weight of whatever munched on it I couldn't find any grubs or other insects on the plants and couldn't work out what it was. Last night I went out to check the plants after dark and found a fat arsed earwig heading towards another plant. I read in a book that these bastards eat holes in the leaves at night and Pyrethrum is the recommended solution but the plants had already been sprayed with pyrethrum so that doesn't work. Does anyone know any other ways (preferably chemical free) to stop my plants becoming an allnight diner for earwigs? Thank…

http://www.avrdc.org.tw/LC/cabbage/dbm1s.jpg Does anyone else have the same, never-ending problem with these varmints chewing your plants ? Adult http://www.ento.csiro.au/aicn/images/cain2254.jpg They seem to just keep reappearing soon after eradication.

my plants are 10 weeks old and 6 weeks into flower, growing in per/ver mix, hand watered under a 400 watt son t. about 2 weeks ago i noticed some very small black bugs, less than 0.5mm, crawling around in my medium, they are all black, with what looks like a pair of little horns or feelers on the front, ive been told they are fungus nats and they wont harm my plant....Is this right..? my plants are all healthy and have no sign of trouble..Its just that theres quite a few now and I would like to make sure they wont kill my babies... There are no bugs on the plant, just in the medium...and they dont fly around.... Cheers for da help....

Hi, I am a relatively new grower, grown once before but this my first time with hydroponics. I have 5, 10 cm plants, in grodan 3 inch blocks. The plants look healthy but have a very slight white discolouration on some the leaves. More disturbingly there is a white mould growing on the top of the grow block. There are no roots showing through the block so I cannot see any roots at the moment. Has anybody seen this before or any advice would be very much appreciated.

You all know by now I hate the use of chemicals in a grow. We smoke the stuff so don't pollute it! there's many natural alternatives to get rid of bugs and I'm going to post some of them here becouse I'm convinced that if you have some more information, you can use them in Australia too. I also think you can order predator bugs online. Here's an example, to get rid of spider mites, there's a bug called "Phytoseiulus persimilis". it's a small predator bug that simply eats the spiders, NOT YOUR PLANTS, and when there's no spiders left to eat they just die out and dissapear. for more information on "Phytoseiulus persimilis". the little predator looks like this : h…

The growing condtions of the seedlings are they recieve full sun, they are grown in their own pots. The lower part of the stem is a light yellow-brown colour, the upper part of the stem is dark purple, the stems are not mushy and no smell nor do they fall over. Just after the seedlings emerged there was a period of 3 days of heavy rain. The 5 effected seedlings have been moved to another part of the yard which is in full sunlight. I do not think humidity is the problem here may be over watering???

I have a small problem out of the 15 seedlings i have 5 have what appears to be collar rot 1/3 of the stem growing from the base of the potting mix is brown, but the rest of the stem is in what appears to be good health with nice dark purple colour to it. Is it worth keeping these seedlings? Or just pull them out??
