Does anyone else have the same, never-ending problem with these varmints chewing your plants ?

They seem to just keep reappearing soon after eradication.

They have eaten off my strawberries a few times. If I had a problem with them Id be lost as they eat a whole leaf in one night.

They sure do. And when the nuds are nearly ready, they chew thru the stem, right in the middle of a bud. The top half dies, and looks like mold, but it isn't.

Find some predators to keep them away - a ladybug might find them tasty?

 

BTW your avatar is a spin-out - I remember doing an animation like that for some guy who had smoked for years but had never heard of a bong or waterpipe. I had no webcam at that stage.

BT or Bacillus Thurigiensis var kurstaki. This is a bacterial bio-insecticide which paralyzes the caterpillar's mouth and stomach parts when injested. Completely harmless to all other animals, although it will kill any caterpillars around. You should be able to get a pack from your local garden center or harware shop under the brand name DIPEL.

Thats cruelty to caterpillars!

 

I havent seen many so I just throw them away.
