New Grower: Help Please!

Hi,

 

I am a relatively new grower, grown once before but this my first time with hydroponics. I have 5, 10 cm plants, in grodan 3 inch blocks.

 

The plants look healthy but have a very slight white discolouration on some the leaves. More disturbingly there is a white mould growing on the top of the grow block.

 

There are no roots showing through the block so I cannot see any roots at the moment.

 

 

Has anybody seen this before or any advice would be very much appreciated.

gudday melva,welcome to the hippest joint in town.i wouldn't have a clue about your mould.but don't worry man,there's heaps people around this place who can help ya out.

Whats your ventalation like in there? is there a constante supplie of fresh air goin in an an an a outy fan ( my lamer terms sorry)

You've got what is called "white mould" When my crop was finished I used to leave the lights and fans off while they were flushing and thats when I start to get the mould so I keep the fans running now and dont have a problem with it anymore so I put the cause down to lack of adequate ventilation in a humid atmosphere.

had not turned on an outside fan, was worried about the the babies being so young. I am about to install an extractor fan just waiting for a friend to come and help with the wiring :angry:

 

have turned the fan on now..........proper extractor fan should be in by the weekend

Have you ever seen it on your crops, any idea as too how much damage this is going to cause?

Boulder, my case looks like an immature version of that but very similar. I have read the effects and will try and treat it. Thank you

Melver, i used a product called Micro Kill, $18 for one litre bottle.
