General Cultivation Q&A

Hello how are you going. I am looking to make a setup with my main growing area and also a germinating,seedlings and cuttings area. Now i know you can buy germinating kits etc from hydroponics shops but what would i need in a kit. Flourosecnt Lighting, Heatpad anything else i would need. Know of any good ones instead of the paper towel methods etc. Do you know of any good links on the net what are for australian sites to get them thanks.

What do u guys think about folier spraying plants? is it worth it? does it really make a difference i am in particuar looking at Dutch Master Folitech. If it is effective how often should i do it? and do i need to start 1/4 strenght nutes? Nimer

how often should i fertilize?with plants in soil, pots. should i use the recomended dosage of 20ml a+b to 5l of water, every time i water.any advice

Alright ... I can see this question getting kinda huge and involved so I'll keep it as brief as possible. I'm a little dubious as to which method to sex plants with. From my research I know that there are the main 3 ways... observing preflowers, flowering clones, or flowering then revegging. Has anyone observed the preflower technique to work successfully? It sounds like quite easy but how reliable is it? Flowering clones seems to be the best method, but how long would this take? From what I've been reading, obviously you must wait until your plants are old enough to take cuttings from, then one must wait until the cuttings are rooted and then more waiting until the…

my first plant shown here is from a motherplant that is awesome weed, all the clones ever taken from this mother put out ft long solid buds and fat ones, this is 2 weeks in to flowering, any thoughts, opinions plz and any ideas on the strain??

Hi there everyone. I've got the grow up and running again. Fucking rippers decided that outdoor growing was a no-no for me. But that's another story. Anyway, I have two bbxww ladies, planted outdoors in late feb, (hydro) which are looking very, very resinous. (YAY!) They aren't that big, and if I had to guess, I'd say they're about halfway through flowering. I've also got a couple of clones of another indica strain, (HFS) these were also taken around early jan and grown outside in perlite, they didn't get past 30cm! (not enough light). Hey hows it going. At the moment as you know my seeds are just germinating, just getting little tails on em now. I went up yesty and bought Blood N Bone Fertiliser and also Pot N Peat potting mix. Now after the seeds are done i put the potting mix in then about 1cm under i put the seed sprout down ? Then pour water on it till the water drains out the botton om the pot. Then put them in a cupboard what has been painted white. I have a few questions i hope you can answer thankyou. What type of lighting ? i have 3 clones 12 days old in rockwool , been spraying them with 25% fert. 4 times a day.As the leaves are starting to yellow slightly i am wondering is it time to re-pot them, there are roots about half a inch long, if yes what medium, would 50/50 potting mix and perlite be ok. Hello hows it going. Now at the moment i am germinating my seeds. I bought some potting mix today, 6 pots, and some blood n bone fertiliser. Now i was wondering after the 6 have germinated i place one in each pot. But do i fill the pot half up with potting mix then put the seed in sprout down then fill over it. How deep does the seed have to be ? Do i sprinkle a bit of blood n bone on each or mix it in ? How much water should i use in the seedling stages if i am using 2 high powered lights (Not sure what yet) in a closet ? Any help would be great thanks. Write back

ok im planning to build a stealth grow box in an old dresser so i guess the dimensions would be about 2fw x 2fd x 4fh. it will be set up for SCROG growing in soil. so here are the questions: 1)i was planning to have two 100w hps lights mounted on top with holes cut through for the light to cut back on heat, but after reading for a while on overgrow im starting to think about putting in some of those energy saving bulbs that screw into normal light sockets. Should i stick to hps or move to fluros? or a combination of both, and where should i have my fluros positioned for best effect? above or below the screen? 2)because i am growing from seed, not clones i am…
