General Cultivation Q&A

Hello All, I've got some seeds that say they have a 53 Day Flowering Period. Does this mean 53 days from the day I cut the light down to 12/12 OR 53 days from when the first flowers appear? Thanks again, dwyndorf

just wondering what most people's tap water is like for hydro growing my tap water is .9 on my TDS meter which i think is 900ppm, I grow at around 2.2 - 2.4 which is only 1.3 - 1.5 real nutes the rest is crud in the water, The thing is my last crop leaves a salty taste in my mouth, so its probaly not flushed properly using the .9 tap water, I'll have plenty rain water for the next crop thanks to the recent rains, Rain water comes up at 0.1 on my TDS meter, which should make the next crop better.

can anyone give me some help on growing in the germination period. i need to know if u can grow with a purple fluro in the germination period . and what kind of temp is needed to grow in this period. also what is the ideal length before putting them into my cupboard. cheers

Why is life an eternal struggle?? I woke up this morning all hyped up to go and look at the progress of my 1 to 3 day old seedlings......As i entered my shed and took the cover off my grow chamber i realised something was up!! all my rockwool was bare and there were signs of a struggle in my soil tank(was tryin in the soil and rockwool). Some filthy little rodent had pilfered my seedlings....i found all the seed casings behind the chamber,but that was all............. Hello every1,Just wondering how long people veg 4 n flower 4?I was reading that a strain Red devil needed min of 3 weeks veg and 9-10 weeks flower(Doesnt sound right?)So whats best say 3-4 weeks veg n 8 weeks flower,Say the strain is Red devil pure indicia,Will the plants grow much after turning them?How big do you want plants before turning if wanting great yield?I no leaving em 2 long is no good as you dont get much from the bottoms its only time wasting yeah?Id think 24/7 4 veg would b best what do youse think?Thanks n good luck 2 all

Hello, My plants have massive leaves which are blocking light to the lower branches, is it cool to prune these big leaves off to allow more light to get in under the canopy? dwyndorf

well i got 20 more new seeds that i aw going to plant while season is still in- anyway i am looking to put all the seeds in one area then when Males and females show ill remove the males, anyway here is my question, how far can i space the seeds from eachother?

My first harvest went alright, from one plant about 2 feet tall i got 35 grams... They smell great, smoke nice and getcha really high! The only problem is they are really loose! I would like to get them tight and compressed! Its kind of imbarressing showing your stuff to people when it looks like that! I'll try to post a picture when i have the camera again! Any thoughts, tricks or ideas? PLEASE My next harvest is in 20 days then 20 after that and so on.......

Could anyone please tell me what is the max percentage of "oxygen" saturated in water at 20 degress C, that can be obtained? Jack

I use a 50 letre res hooked upto a u shaped pvc, Now, every nute change I usually take all the plants out and clean the PVC, now i really cant be fucked doing this anymore, is it ok to just run water through the system for 5 mins? would that hurt the plants? and then get them straight back on nutes......... Is this ok?

Hi all, Just wondering if any hydro growers out there have used nutes by the name of Gen-x (www.grotek.net)? I'm currently using Grow-rite & Bud-rite (great product)! Gen-x looks interesting in the way that it's primarily a 3 part mixture in which you change the ratios according to what stage of development the plant is in. I'm about to flower my girls in about 7 days & I have a trial pack of Gen-x that I wish to try. Any feedback on this product would be appreciated.

Hi, I put my tree into flower 15th of March so she's about 6 weeks into flower and doing nicely, lots of budsites, have tied her down heaps and getting a nice canopy of greenery happening So my Q is, Approx how long will she take to finish flowering? I dont know what the strain is, just seed out of the bottom of an oz bag. Also, I have been using "Head-On Grow" A 1 Part nute feed. I think the plant has been getting a bit less stinky than at the start of flowering. So, should I use more nutes now the plant is getting bigger and has been put into flower? What are is the best way to cure weed? My mate and I have tried the usual hang upside down and in paper bags tricks but were wondering if there was something more specific we could do. I remember seeing a really complicated method in 'High Times' a couple of years back involving about three weeks and a number of different steps that was supposed to seriously boost the strength of the weed but I'm blowed if I can find the mag now. As 'High Times' is quite difficult to find in South Africa where we live I thought you guys might be able to help as I've only heard good things about Oz homegrown (and growers).
