Hi guys, im 19 and have been working construction for almost a year now, as a labour. I enjoy working as a labour, and usually what id do to get through the day is sip on some Johnny walker throughout the day and beer on the lunch break. Id like to switch to weed throughout the day and beer on the lunch break as the usual, so my question is which weed is best for physical demanding jobs? (which strain). Thanks

Ive been looking for a decent box to make an aerocloner out of and all the boxes/storage totes from bunnings are made of that crappy hard plastic that cracks the second you look at it so there is no way I will be able to cut 30 holes without breaking and I looked at ordering a Rubbermaid tote from the states but that is stupid expensive on shipping $100+ so does anyone here know where I should look to get this cloner on the road?

Just wondering when the best time top my outdoor plants. They have just reached their first set of 5 blade leaves, is it too early to top now? I want to use this method to keep the plants short enough to not poke over the fence

Hi Guys, This is my first ever grow! Starting them inside to then be transplanted to an already prepared plot on a private property away from my house. Germinated 3 different medical strains 3 weeks ago and they are now starting to branch out really nicely. I gave them their second feed today and have been putting them outside during sunny days and bringing them in at 5pm and putting them under my LED grow light for another 6 hours. I built a DIY growbox to house them in as I have very limited space and live at home still so they are tucked away in the corner of my closet. I recently added a small computer fan to keep the air circulating around without making lots o…

Hey Guys, Under goiing my first grow and it seems to be going alright. Still early stages but what I want to know for future grows - Is how does Advanced Nutrients stack up against the stuff we can get here in Oz pretty easily (eg. Canna, GT, DutchMaster etc.)? Im currently growing hydroponically in clay mediums using a top fed recirculating system and will continue to do so for future grows. Peace

Hey, we have been hand watering and mixing H&G nutrients for a few months now when needed. we decided to make a 50lt rez where the nutes can be mixed and used over a week. there is a water pump in the black rez, no light leaks and the temp sits around 20 degrees being in a shaded area on concrete. just noticed after 3 days that the rez water is very cloudy. anyone know why this is? nutes used are: H&G Coco's A&B, Multizym, Growtek CalMag, Canna Rhizotonic and Flairform PH Down. If the rez water is cloudy, is it ok to use this water for feeding? I mixed another batch and watched as each nute was put in. looked like the Rhizotonic left a cloudy resi…

Does anyone else do this? I'm also a bit of a vege grower and have noticed that my basil plants are always getting chewed to bits by grasshoppers. The last couple of years I've grown a few basil bushes around my plants and have noticed that it does seem to keep the grasshoppers off them. (sacrificial basil - It'd make a great name for a band as well)

Hi Im interested in an info on NFT and DWC, if you've done this or know how to set it up then pls post up. ATM I figure Two tents are a minimum, one to run a mum under CFL's or a 250-400 MH to harvest for clones, so a separate clone area would be good, Ive been looking at Turbo cloners. Then how to run them. ATM I guess... The clone area would be used to cut clones off a mature mum. One these have viable roots are they ready to flower? In a SOG NFT grow Im guessing the new clone wont need much time to 'veg' into its new area, and I guess that depends on how many pots you put in. I have a 1.4x1.4 area so an easy 1meterx1meter tube frame would fit in there. I've no idea how …

Ok so I've had some major problems growing indoors regarding fungus gnats and Pythium. I made the big mistake of having a compost bin outside that was moist and riddled with these bastards! Anyway I lost an entire crop due to them! After endless research I found that fungus gnats and more importantly Pythium do not like the friendly bacteria Bacillus Thuringiensis Israelensis. However this is not available (to my knowledge) in Australia. Bacillus Thuringiesis var. Kurstaki is available in Bunnings. I am experimenting with this product on the compost heap (I'll keep you all posted). Now that I have eliminated the fungus gnats from the grow room I want to add a preventative…

There's been some discussion in Hashy's diary re the storage of seeds with dessicants and I did not want to hijack his thread so sharing this here... I was concerned because I have silica dessicants in with my seeds. I found this info on the seedsman site http://www.seedsman.com/en/seed-storage ... Silica gel, often used in the drying of seeds, can also be used to help maintain stable moisture levels within a permanent storage container. Equal weights of silica gel to seed are used. In general hemp seeds weigh between 0.01 and 0.02 grams and our silica gel sachets contain 0.5g.... I had too many sachets (thinking more was better ) so I have now removed most…

Hi, New to the forum and never grown anything. From what I've read, a DWC system is probably the best way to start. I would prefer to grow in some cupboard space, and was only wanting to grow two plants in the long run but perhaps only begin with one. I saw this http://www.hydroponicxpress.com.au/shop/p-deep-flow-dutch-bato-kit.html online but would rather buy locally. I could travel anywhere between Northern NSW and Brisbane if the right store could be recommended as would prefer not to buy online. In regards to the sizing of plant, but would something like this http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/2x-Hydroponics-German-Grow-Light-Tent-XS-Indoor-Room-60x60x140cm-Aluminum-…
