Paul_Perrett_Orders_in_Council_Statement.docDivinatory Experiences (And sundry matters) Dedicated to Ruen, Baron Jay of Ewelme & Mr. Price CBE QC I don’t advise consulting the tarot when stoned, although I have done. The intelligences which govern it are Mercurial and unscrupulous in deceiving the diviner. This does not mean that they are malignant; they just have a proper pride in their office as Oracles of Truth. In short, if you ask party-time questions you will get part-time answers! A few months short of a decade ago I became involved in some political matters. The consequences of this have been life changing. At one time I had a woman, a profession, a home…

The call left senior sergeant Mal Lochrie shaking his head as he explained that the woman had called to report the theft of three marijuana plants which she had growing in pots outside." I'd prolly be crying too.

Somewhere Over The Rainbow Weigh a Pie “Shall I say, I have gone at dusk through narrow streets…?” I took up the tobacco pipe in or about 1980 – I think. Gazbo took it up just after me. We smoked Amphora Black Cavendish. Cloying memories of sweet tobacco smoke in the backroom of Nana’s house because she thought that it added the room-note of a man. Rich and luxuriant in the meandering traditions of patient men, contented to silently reflect while the nicotine intimately massaged the pleasure centres of our souls. You cannot get Amphora Black anymore. Generally Gaz and I would light incense then take the sacrament in my cramped Study and thereafter smoke our pipes an…

The Science of Getting It Wrong: How to Deal with False Research Findings Talk about making waves. Two years ago medical researcher John Ioannidis of the University of Ioannina in Greece offered mathematical "proof" that most published research results are wrong. Now, statisticians using similar methods found—not surprisingly—that the more researchers reproduce a finding, the better chance it has of being true. Another research team says researchers have to draw conclusions from imperfect information, but offers a way to draw the line between justified and unjustified risks. http://www.sciam.com/media/inline/05C04C38-E7F2-99DF-3843F150B0DE1355_1.gif FALSE POSI…

War on drugs failing: ex-judge FORMER royal commissioner and inaugural National Crime Authority chairman Don Stewart says attempts to deal with the growing illicit drug problem through traditional law enforcement methods have failed. The retired judge, who headed a royal commission into drug trafficking in Australia in the 1980s, says illegal drug use should be treated as a public health issue. "I have slowly come around to the point where I believe the handling of it in a criminal way is never going to work," Mr Stewart told The Weekend Australian. "Punitive measures will not work. We can't go on the way we are." In a book to be published next week, Mr Stewart say…

Geocities: The Digital Genesis
In the bustling digital streets of the late '90s, Yahoo Geocities stood out as a haven for burgeoning online communities. It was here, amidst this digital renaissance, that OZ Stoners planted its foundational roots. This marked the dawn of a space that would go on to become synonymous with Australian cannabis culture.
Navigating the Digital Tempests
On its journey, OZ Stoners faced formidable challenges. Between Yahoo's unpredictability and the unexpected anti-cannabis stance of titans like Meta, steering the ship required a blend of adaptability, tenacity, and foresight.
A Hiatus and the Phoenix's Ascent
Come 2022, OZ Stoners entered a period of unplanned dormancy, lasting a challenging 12 months. But, reminiscent of the legendary phoenix, this hiatus was transformed into an opportunity for rebirth. The platform underwent comprehensive upgrades, server enhancements, and a revitalising overhaul. As it emerged, it did so with a phoenix-like rise, soaring higher and brighter, dedicated to serving the community with even more zeal and purpose.
Ode to the Trailblazers
The tapestry of OZ Stoners is woven with the dedication and vision of its founding members. Their relentless drive and contributions have been the bedrock of its success. While many of these pioneers continue to shape its direction, we pause to honor those trailblazers we've lost over time. Their indomitable spirit continues to inspire and resonate within the cannabis community. - Memorial Hall
