Mr Andrews said the state of disaster gave police greater power and allowed authorities to suspend acts of Parliament.

Police Minister Lisa Neville said the state of disaster was decided on to make sure the Government had clear power to impose and enforce a curfew.

She said it would help police to enforce the curfew and suggested it would enable them to prevent all protests or move along crowds at settings like supermarkets if physical-distancing rules were not being followed.

Ms Neville said the legislation allowed her to appoint police as authorised officers, removing the current need for police to have a health department official with them on jobs like compliance checks.

Hang in there Victorians. Six weeks will go quickly. Keeping the mind positive and the body active will help. No easy task for the stressed. 
I read an article earlier today that online anxiety programmes / apps are just as effective as face to face meetings with a Dr.

 

Simple breathing techniques a couple of times a day can  lower blood pressure, heart rate, relieves neck pain etc etc.

That 6 weeks was only if they got it under control. It still ain't under control, so that 6 weeks is gonna be extended. Especially when we have people going 'ahh fuck it, won't happen to me..' and ignoring the recommendations.

Blaming Dan is just like Trump blaming the state of Washington. Sure Washington state reported the first case in the U.S. but dickheads not obeying the rules increased the spread, not the Washington governor.

We all need someone to blame and presently Victoria has become Australia's punching bag, but individuals crossing borders, avoiding checkpoints and flagrantly breaching the rules are the ones to blame.

 

We can all go blame, blame, blame. China, China, China. But blame gets us nowhere. I'd be the first to say 'Victoria sux' but this ain't a Victorian thing. This is worldwide and blame may make us feel better about ourselves but the reality is we ALL have to play our part, however small that part maybe.

Me mate managed to escape Victoria last night at about 6 pm

 

Good on him as well, he been paying rent since the 1st of June in NSW ffs 

got stopped on the outskirts on Melbourne, told them he was moving to NSW, let him go, got to Albury and got stopped by an Army bloke

said he has to leave Vic because its not good for his health, they helped him fill out a border pass, and he was on he's way by 6.30

 

To fuckling easy, can see how the two young girls conned they way around a few states
