Coronavirus.

Was that a joke?

The lockdowns are Draconian and the rise in anti govt sentiment are a representation of this.

The statistics (in Australia) would suggest that the cure is by far worse than the effect.

I'd agree that working together to achieve a relatively good outcome is a decent plan of attack, however my definition of " work together" is not to blindly follow Govt and assume that theirs is the correct, best or only course of action.

The statistics in Australia suggest that the lockdown for the most part is working, with some exceptions. I would much rather a lockdown than what has happened in some areas overseas.

Lockdown is the right move to protect the vulnerable in our society, many of whom are elderly, paid taxes all their lives, and don't deserve to be struck down by a preventable illness just because some aspects inconvenience some people.

There is lots of vulnerability in society. Not just the frail and week. The whole lot of us have different needs.

Im not convinced an “elimination strategy”is the correct way forward.

Covid sneaks around on the backs of the strong to attack those it can. Some of these spreaders are oblivious they have it. How do you stop that?

i agree that the elderly need protection from the virus........however............the other 75% of the population need protection from the effects of covid.

Tough one.

Lockdown our elderly for 6 months while thE rest of us strive for herd immunity.

Dunno.

Hahaha. Too funny.

The chick that wrote that is an expert in fly and tick bites.

The link “Some scientists” in blue in the same article hooks up to a British tabloid. Raves on about harvesting bats for further work in their Wuhan lab some seven years ago.

References from credible sources are lacking to say the least. Credible being scientist and the like.

Reporters and “article paid pseudo science experts” do not fit this bill in my opinion.

A well respected group.

Or Nature ?

Getting better Mick. :)

Whether it was manipulated in a lab or not. Which your article says is “improbable” is still not definitive.

Wuhan had the first cases. Some of those had no links to the wet market.

Im hesitant to make broad sweeping claims that even the experts can’t agree on. But that’s just me.
Each to their own.

Stay safe.

humanity survived the 1918 pandemic without a vaccine .

What makes you think there were no vaccines? Vaccines did play a significant role in reducing the death toll to Spanish Flu.
