I heard on the radio today that the virus has a lipid( fat) outer layer which soap is good at breaking down which kills the virus. So basic soap may be pretty effective.

You heard correctly. The shell AKA corona of the virus is made of fat. As ya know from washing dishes, soap breaks down fat.

This is why soap is so important when washing your hands.

Alcohol also breaks down fats which is why it's used for disinfecting surfaces.

Yeah basic soap would be more effective then hand sanitizer Frank.

 

But if your out and about and haven't got any running water and you need to do a quick effective job at killing 99.9% of germs/potential viruses, hand sanitizer.

CHINA GUTTED AUSTRALIA'S MEDICAL SUPPLIES AHEAD OF PANDEMIC

 

If you ever needed proof that allowing Chinese Government-backed corporations to operate with impunity in Australia is not in our national interests, here it is.

 

Even as the Chinese Government was covering up vital information about the true threat of the coronavirus, it was ordering one of their companies to start gutting Australia of our medical supplies.

 

It has been reported that "staff from the Chinese government-backed global property giant Greenland Group were instructed to put their normal work on hold and source bulk supplies of essential medical items to ship back to China."

 

With an office in Sydney "sourcing bulk supplies of surgical masks, thermometers, antibacterial wipes, hand sanitisers, gloves and Panadol for shipping."

 

We are being taken for fools by China and it is the people of Australia who are suffering the consequences.
