A couple of months ago I asked my GP about obtaining cannabis to treat my ongoing symptoms.

"Ohh ahhh, I don't know anything about the processes, I wouldn't know where to start..."

Being that I'm in SA and there being no clinic's here (our state Gov't (Liberal) still have their heads buried firmly up their own arses)  I thought the whole process would be a waste of time

I went investigating and found a clinic in NSW, who would go through the whole process online.

 

So after a couple of weeks of paperwork both from myself and my GP, today I got the call from the clinic and have had the initial approval.

I now have to obtain the approval from the TGA but from what I've been told this should not be a problem and should take less than a week.

The Dr I spoke to has told me that what he would be prescribing is a CBD and THC combination as my situation is pain related.

I asked the Dr about the cost of the medication itself as it is NOT on the PBS and I have to say it is NOT cheap.

The Dr himself would not actually tell me a defined cost but advised me to call the chemist in Victoria.

Upon doing so I was told $270/50ml + postage ($30), so $300 delivered. First thought "Fuck, it'd be cheaper to go buy an ounce" but have decided to follow through with the process.

 

At this point I have not been told of the recommended dosages, so how long that 50ml is going to last I am unsure.

I am also unsure if I may be able to get my local chemist to get it in for me or whether it needs to come from an approved compounding chemist, solely in Victoria.

 

So the processes have been started. The dr and the prepaid TGA approvals have cost me $550 so far (that's without the script itself), so let's see how much more it's gonna cost

When I have any further info I will let you all know.

Imagine what the average Joe is thinking when he pays for 5 grams

Having never had to buy weed b4 they must wonder how the normal stoner on the street affords it at those prices

Until they realise how much they are being ripped off

Pharma companies are like a pack of lions circling around the sick , waiting for time to come in for the kill

And when you are your most vulnerable they strip you down to the bone, financially and emotionally

There is no way in the world I can afford to even go through the process let alone buy any meds , so right from the word go ppl like me are excluded from even attempting to go down this road

Cost them fuck all to produce,I suppose the major mark up is the wages they are paying their so called genius running and looking after them

Doesn't take a rocket scientist to grow good weed , but seems if you aren't dont even bother applying

Give me Pedro and Porky, I'm sure we could produce equivalent or supieor meds at a much lower price to the consumer,

if the current prices do stay at this level for the next 5 years i'll be disappointed .

now lets take a look at this from the eye of the owner/ ceo, new industry started from 0, a new business which means high initial expenses, highly regulated, low patient numbers due to initial over regulation and availability.
i'm sure things will even out, doubt you'll pick up an ounce for under $400 but you never know

If you look at how much it was costing Merl at the start to go through the process then how much it cost me recently it has come down.

$299 for 100ml 20% thc oil and $150 for a years worth of nurse/doctor consultations inc TGA approvals with a concession card we are starting to see things get cheaper as more clinics enter the market.

That's what we hope Oldfark BUT it would be interesting to have a $/gm cost of production, a $/gm govt taxes and a $/gm dealer or chemist costs. 'Cos at present someone's making a pretty penny from it all and it ain't me

The cheapest I've found has been Belmont Road Discount Drug Store in QLD. I'm not saying the are the cheapest, but they're certainly cheaper than any of my local chemists.

Hi crew, I am still waiting for the pharmacy to ring me to let me know that they have received my script for medical cannabis oil But hey it has only been 5 days from my last appointment with my doctor on the 18/04/2020.I am just hanging out to see if this canna medication will help me can't blame me for that  .

 

i have been checking a lot of web sites that look lagit an they have the lot for sale here in Australia an posted with in Australia as well an the prices seem ok as well an they have a heap of different strains for sale even the very low THC strains with high CBD levels that would help a lot of people an young children with so many illness .I am still thinking of giving one site a go an if all works out well I will post a link to there site But I will not post any link here if they don't come good with the medication.All they will get is a post telling people not to go any where near them as I do not want anyone here being ripped off by scammers.

 

 I am very interested in the strain called AC/DC It is a high CBD  low THC strain plus the have quite a few other low THC with high CBD plus they have a lot of new canna weed strains with high THC in them  so I will keep you posted.
