I only use HID.

 

I did get a led once for my pushy,,,worked well too.

 

And a meizhi but got rid of it after a few weeks.waste of money that was .

 

I'll step into leds one day when I'm convinced they are worth it ,..probably good for summer.

 

But at 1400 bucks I don't see the point ,,,they don't seem to produce enough from what I've seen here ( sorry led lovers ).

The old led shit is totally different. The cheap epistar and bridgelux diodes were crap. They had the same efficacy as hps. The LM301B chips used on todays horticultural led lights have a efficacy of almost double that... don't make me say photons...

 

Price wise, there are other ways... the chinese reverse engineer everything in time so it will be cheaper in future, but even now you can buy the same thing without HLG stamped on it for half the price...

Better growers than me be pulling 2 kegs per 1000w of light, and my lights are paid off now , so the cost is irellevant

Yeah yeah, i pulled 5 + OZ from me run that finished in Jan, 1000w HPS se

Have a look at atreum lighting. Could build lights with their components cheap as fuck.

Well you could definitely smash more than a gram per watt. They reckon 35-50 watts per square foot of canopy. 50 is co2 territory tho I'd say. People are building custom lights that have like multiple spectrums and 1000+ppfd over the entire canopy.

I know a bloke smashing 2gpw with hps aswell. But I've heard talk about potentially 5 lb per 1000 watt is possible with led. I'm sure someone will do it soon.

1000 watt de, 4x4 trays flood and drain. He did 3.5 per tray last run . Dudes a beast.

And he's in the process of moving to qbs. So I'm not sure what that tells ya.
