Parliamentary Petition to Legalise Recreational Cannabis

Recommended Posts

lol lol lol lol

Hey B_E thanks for linking through this petition. I'll be signing this later when I get a little more time. It's a worthy cause and I reckon people deserve the right to smoke cannabis in peace without the additional paranoia of being arrested for it.

That being said. I'm more in favor of Decriminalization as opposed to complete legalization. But hey that's just my opinion and I reckon everyone deserves the right to voice their opinion and sign a petition such as this one.

The government needs to realize that cannabis in most instances is a far less volatile substance then tobacco and alcohol and people deserve the right to smoke cannabis in peace without fear of prosecution.

People who use drugs shouldn't be considered to be criminals, it's a health issue not a criminal issue. The laws need to change IMO

Cheers, please do, and tell anyone you think might be interested and some that aren't to do so too lol

Decrimalization is better than nothing but we've had decimalisation in SA for over 30 years and the fact is that under decrimalization it is still illegal, you still have to hide your stash and plants from the cops and you still feel paranoid. I think society would be a healthier place if you could invite a copper around for a bbq and show him how nice your buds are ripening out in the backyard :P

Don't believe a word of it, they are all lying stnuc, who do you think finance's these flogs, where do you think they get there ideas from

Ok, I haven't bothered engaging with The Greens since they conservatised (fuk I hate Di Natali with a passion)... but as I recall they were funded via paid memberships and public donations. Has that changed? Do they have big backers now? I'm interested to know as I have been out of the political loop for decades.

I don't think that has changed at all. Pedro don't like the greens or socialists, thats his opinion and its fine but this Petition has nothing to do with the greens except mentioning the popularity in polling of their policy. This petition is calling for the current Turnbull government to put it up for a plebiscite at the federal election later this year. It really has nothing to do with the greens.

Where were all you non conservatives with all this shit, when fucking labour and the greens were in power

same as the rainbow marriage shit, throw a tantrum till you get your own way, say fuck all when the left is in, if you reckon they're different why not vote them in again

ya mate Bill Shorten might be in next, why not wait till then, the greens will be in a coalition with them

instead of bagging conservative stnuc, all governments are stnuc

if you really want to change shit, get 1000000 people smoking pot out the front of parliament till they do

there ya go save me posting on two threads

Thanks Bloodshot_eyes. I realise the intent of the petition and have signed, but I am interested in Pedro's opinion as well. I like many people because disenchanted with The Greens when they moved from being a party of mass participation  (ie every rank and file member had equal say in policy setting) to the professional/electoral model under that scum sucker Di Natali.

I think people are trying to capitalise on the momentum that is currently growing internationally with what is happening in US and Canada. The time to start changing these laws is now, yet conservative SA government want to increase penalties on cannabis. I am pissed because I had heard that labor in SA under Jay Wetherill was going to look at cannabis regulation after the election, and..... they lost. Now we have Stephen Marshall and the SA liberals about to go all Richard Nixon on us....
