Totally man. "The proof is in the PAR" as a wise man once told me..

 

I've crunched some numbers and found a way I can make mine cheaper in the future and shave about $100... So something you spent $1350 I could make for $450.. imagine how cheap they make the fuckers for...

How big a driver would you need to run 6 or 8 of the 288 panels?? Or would you have to use 2 drivers....?? im a boilermaker, we have a cnc plasma cutter at work haha im going to draw up a killer housing and see if i can sneak in on the weekend to make it haha

Not sure about the QB s mate but I think ledgardener & the like have heaps of builds using the 288s. If you were running 6-8 I'd probably be inclined to run 2 drivers with 4 on each panel so you are dividing the power consumption. I think I read its better to do that then run one driver.. again I'm not sure, I'm still learning this LED business myself haha

My HLG 480 sits on the carpet and is barely even warm.. not sure if the bigger drivers would be worse but no heat on this baby

Good idea , leds should be killing hps, the amount of light that comes out of the fuckers, very interesting build there tunkers, and the right way to go from what i see

Tunkers have you seen growmau5's quantum canopy build on youtube?? That is a thing of beauty!! First grow he pulls something ridiculous like 2.44 lb off the one light!!!

Tend to agree. Tunks is going to see what it's all about now. This lighting kit does indeed show a lot of promise.

 

It's an enlightening* moment, when you get your first real grow light. I wasted my fair share of dollars pissing around with unsatisfactory lighting until i got underway properly with growing indoors. A well trodden path by many..
