A good fish monger will give it away for free ....as by the end of the week it stinks and he has to pay to get rid of it ...

Ask for all the off cuts the tails heads etc ....most will give it away ...you are doing them a favour

Also start off with goldfish if you are going down the aquaponics path they are very forgiving of cold and heat and in experience before you go and splash out for perch or barra or trout

Where I live, it is very easy to get them big caged plastic thingymajiggy things will get a few! And a bath tub from the tip should be perfect!

Had some free time the other day so I piled up 4 bags of horse manure...

 

I put down two plastic roof sheets cut in half

 

Layers :

1 bag horse manure

Covered manure with coco

Worm castings

Pea straw mulch x4

And on top I just covered it with leftover soil to try cover the smell!

 

Just preparing, until I have everything to go in!

 

Had a quick peek under the covers...
