Best place to buy LEDs in Aus?

Cyclops and Vostok.... The proof is in the grow diary and weigh in. Until anyone pro led bothers start a diary and show full results.... Then you can argue all ya want.

 

It seems members of this site are intelligent enough to stick with what is proven...time and time again....

 

If you two or more pro led members wanna change the satus quo. Provide some regular and proven results... We have internet, we have mobile phones, we have scales...... Show us a bloody grow!! Watts per gram is all that is required to prove their worthyness...

The far majority of Aussie growers grow outside, with good reason, it's too hot, otherwise, just take a look at the number one growing issue these last few months....HEAT, the time the average grower beats the issue by growing outside in the SUN

should the grower have further issue then one can sensibly advise him to consider growing inside with HPS and all the associated extraction and ventilation and ....COST

 

So to follow on from the format of this post, .......Why the hell the ''knockers of LED''  would grow under HPS when the sun is by far the better source of illumination, with the exception of 2-3 weeks a year,.. the sun is perfect for growing Mj, why use the heat making HPS and again the cost....? is just crazy.

 

I shudder to think that if a grower locks himself out to LED and other technologies then he will lock himself out to any 'modern' improvements to his hobby

 

As I've posted earlier Leds are great,.. but do avoid the 3 watt old tech, and the Chinese made locals, go for the 5 watt Cree's and USA made and a 70-30 red / blue ratio and will be fine

That's a ridiculous argument. The risk of being caught drove growers inside. You don't understand because your not a grower.

Most growers can distinguish the difference between technology that actually works and technology that's sold by shonky salesman. Once again you don't understand, or are you perhaps one of the salesmen?

I think the argument with LED stems from peoples belief that they are comparable to HPS. They arent, doubt they ever will be. But I beleive for a hobby grower, who could be happy with the yeild that is produced then in that sense...they work fine. I suppose it really comes down to just what level of Yeild you want.  House globe to Fluoro to CFL (in quantiy) to LED to HID . As you move up the scale the better results. Oh and Sun works too .

As to the original posters question, where to get them. I got mine form my local Hydro shop. My units are good ...as far as LED goes. now I own them they will be going on the bottom to supplement the HID

looking at getting back into a "hobby" but my missus is hassling me to do my research on lighting and heat amongst other things. i have seen some stuff on prosource worldwide LED lighting one of which was a grow diary/review on grasscity, review says they work but with a lower yield. personally i dont buy into LED but i thought i may aswell ask around. has anyone used or know anyone who has used them? heard good or bad about them? and would you be willing to skimp on power to yield less?

Use them in conjunction with another form of lighting, ie, fluorescent, cfl or hps, unless you are willing to spend some deniro on a complete led lighting set up, you'll save overall with $ on your power bill, but the outlay for descent leds tends to deter some people, or worse, forces them to invest in inferior, cheaper models, use a cfl for veg, and a hps for flower, unless you can afford the good leds. Check out Kessil lighting.

One more bit of advice, don't mention leds again, not around here anyway.

yeah I won't be mentioning them here again. I'm happy with what I use and what works for me.

 

And there is no bloody way in the world I would do a grow dairy in public. I have seen threads where people are worrying about the security of this and other sites.

Well they have got it backwards. If you get raided one of the first things to get checked after your phone is your computer. It takes about five seconds to bring up your browsing data. cannabis.community.forums.ozstoners.com stands out and they will check it out straight away. 99% of users are automatically logged in.

I also have posted grows, not as long as Bufo, only at 3 years, never had a problem, even before I joined 420crew..................... I agree with bufo, put up or shuddup.
