How Long (realistically) will it be?

Recommended Posts

How long do you think it will be until cannabis is legally available in Australia's states and territories?

there are a few sub legalities i suppose i have to describe.

1. Available for medical use, and supported my doctors.

2. Available from designated/approved shops / cafe's

3. Available from your local, same as alcohol and tobacco (with the proper 18+ ID of course - don't want kiddies having it)

4. Being able to smoke where ever you like (within reason i suppose - same as tobacco smoking, smoke free zones etc)

5. Being able to Grow and Posses your own without fear of the law.

what do you guys think?

personally i think that 1yr - not a chance, 5yrs - maybe medical, 10yrs - restricted personal use, etc

or do you think we're gonna go backwards with drugs and the laws are gonna get more tighter?

discuss :)

Maybe 20 years medical, 50 years personal...

Its a silly thing to try and predict, its as bad as saying "How hot do you think it will be on November the 12th, 2025?"- can't be predicted.

There is some chance of it happening, but I can't see a change less than 5-10 years and in the best case scenario if it happened within that time frame, only a moderate shift.

It could even get worst, more false studies prove marijuana is the #1 cause of all mental illnesses, and kills more people than all other causes of death combined etc, plus is addictive as heroin and crack at the same time.

Besides... do we really want to legalise it if it'll bump the price up 500%?

The price of retail product wouldn't be an issue if it were legalised, as you could just plant it in your backyard. So yes, we really want that. :P

Seen the fine for growing tobacco lately? It's "legal". harhar.gif

20years maybe for any, and only after a huge generational change ..

I wish i didn't believe this, but in my heart i do. To legalise in any form now would mean that governments would have to admit they go it wrong.

That will never happen!!!

I actually think there is a push going on to outlaw it further, as these BS studies regarding the supposed connection between Cannabis use and Mental Health keep getting government fundingThe pollies have got the balls to make changes if they wanted,. After all they stand up and ask to be re-elected until they get pushed out and on to a nice cushy pension paid for by pot smoking, tax paying Aussies, they just have no incentive to make the changes. Especially as most of us do not stand up and protest the BS laws loudly, proudly and publicly. I include myself in this criticism...
