Plant turn yellow

I am fascinated with my current condition of plants

I germinated some seeds on damped tissue a week ago

I pot the seedlings into their Yates premium potting mix bed

They sprouted fantasticaly after couples of days

Upon seeing the second sets of leaves, I flushed the mix with Horti plant booster in the prescribed proportion

Which claimed to speed up and enlarge the plant, love this

3 days later, I chuck in 10g of Brunnings Easy Wetta pot and plant fertiliser

It's got good proportion of NPK

Hopes that this is great ingredient

To my dissapointment, my plant started to turn yellowish and dried up despite the fact I maintained the dampness of the soil

Where am I getting?

Enlighten me PLEASE!

Youve done everything right, just not in the right order.

 

Next time get a plastic cup of potting mix and put your seed in that. let it sprout and grow.

in the meantime get your pot ready. id start with mixing some manure with your potting mix and put in a tablespoon of lime (not the fruit), blood and bone and mix in well. then transplant your seedling cup into the bigger container when its ready and big.

As the plant grows it needs more nutrients.

 

you can not over feed any plant. especially a seedling. most seed plants have evough food stored in the seed cell to provide for 2-4 weeks. then when you do feed you start off small amounts. if you push a plant with massive amounts of fertilizer you will kill the plant.

 

its a learning curve. it is winter, your plant wont grow so big in oz starting in april outdoor. put it under a fluro.

 

 

Get a book on gardening or talk to someone at a nursery.

also, when u buy nutrients and apply them. apply at half whatever the bottle/bag sez. its better to start off gently feeding then choking it with too much..

Sorry man, i disagree abit, U can MOST certainly over feed a plant specially when its a seedling....Its called Nutrient Burn.

 

If they looked healthy for first week or so, than turned yellow n dry n crispy leaves after u fed em i say its nute burn, as when i add ferts i do at quarter strength to start.

sorry but I agree as well that you can overfeed a plant - quite easily too

 

Your potting mix will have all the nutrients that you need for the first month or so of growth

Oh, thats bas ass...

It truns yellow and dried, which I chuck them into the recycle bin!

So when is it appropriate I feed my plant?

Right now, I am gonna leave it to the mix to do the magic...

No pumping for now!

I am growing some SUNFLOWER for my mate.

Hopes they grow the same way!

I would be careful, I don't wanna to smoke sunny's bud!
